Do the Masah (pass wet hands) of the whole head once.
Thereafter do the Masah of the inside of the ear with the tips of the forefingers and the Masah of the back of the ears with the inside of the thumbs.
Then do the Masah of the nape with the back of the fingers. Do not do the Masah of the throat; it is not permissible. There is no need to use fresh water for the Masah of the ears.

THE MESSAGE
The Dynamism of the Qur’an

When Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam commenced his mission of Tableegh (invitation) towards Islam and he condemned the idols and when people started flocking into the fold of Islam, the chieftains of Makkah called up a meeting. Amongst other things, they discussed how Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam had vexed them and defamed their idols. They discussed the various plans to restrict him and to lull the prevailing social dissension he had caused. One of them mustered the courage and declared that he would somehow or the other tempt and satisfy Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam by which he will subsequently relinquish his Deeni activities. They were under the false notion that Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam was also amongst those whose sole objective is the world.

Similarly, the Chieftain of Makkah also approached Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam with the same frame of mind. As he approached, he submitted: "What is your objective? If wealth is your objective, we will make a massive collection for you. If status is what you desire, we will make you our leader. If you desire women, the most beautiful women of the Quraysh clan will be presented before you." But look at the perseverance of Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam that in spite of hearing all of these accusations, he remained silent.

When the disbeliever finally terminated his speech, all Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam did was he recited "Authu and Bismillah" and recited the following verses: "Ha-meem. This Qur’an is a revelation from the most beneficent and most merciful." He continued reciting until he came to the verse: - "so if they turn away: say (unto them): I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt of Âd and Thamud." (Fussilat)

The dynamism and awe of these verses had such an impact on him that he fled from there saying that he is unable to hear anything. Returning to the chieftains of Makkah, he narrated the entire incident and submitted:" My condition, after going to him, has become strange. When he (Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam recited the above verses (in regards to the thunderbolt), I felt as though I was struck by a thunderbolt. If I sat for a little while longer, I would have relinquished my religion (and chose the religion of Islam)."

This was the effect of the divine word of Allah. Since the reciter was also a practical person, it further enhanced the dynamism and impact of the divine words.

DUA (PRAYER)
Radheena Billahi Rabban wa bil islami Deenan wa bimuhammadin sallallah alayhi wa sallam. (We are pleased that Allah is our Rabb Sustainer, Islam is our religion and Muhammad SAW is our Nabi.)

BENEFIT: Whoever recites this Dua thrice morning and evening Allah SWT takes it upon Him to keep such a person happy on the day of Qiyaamah.

RECIPE
WHIPPED SHORTBREAD
Ingredients
1 Cup Butter- ½ Cup Icing sugar - 1 ½ Cups Flour. Beat all ingredients well.

Method
Drop tblsps onto baking pan. Leave space between drops. Place red or green cherries on each one. Bake at 180c for 15 mins. Allow to cool for 5 mins before transferring onto wire racks.

COOKING TIP
Cooking tips: Kneading is to work dough with your hands. Fold the dough back towards you, press forward with the palms of your hands, and turn the dough. Repeat for as long as the recipe says.

A THOUGHT
Our breath, by degrees steals away our souls from the prison-house of the earth. The good word rises up to Him Allah SWT. Our breathings are lifted up in fear of Allah, offerings from us to the throne of eternity. Then it comes down to us full of rewards for our praises. Are we constrained to utter these praises of Allah? The rising and descent goes on even more. Simply speaking, the attraction comes from the same quarter whence the sweet savior comes.

THE SMILE
At my granddaughter's wedding, the announcer polled the guests to see who had been married longest. It turned out to be my husband and I. The announcer asked us, "What advice would you give to the newly-married couple?"

I said, "The three most important words in a marriage are, 'You're probably right.'"

Everyone then looked at my husband. He said, "She's probably right."

THE NEWS
South African computer users have been identified as part of an international child pornography ring. Police in Austria say the international syndicate involves involving at least 2 360 suspects from 77 countries. About 600 of the suspects come from America. Authorities say the videos show the worst kind of abuse to children. Details of the abuse are too graphic for family radio. All the children were fourteen years and younger with the youngest believed to be five years old.

Israeli soldiers and Lebanese troops have clashed on the border of the two countries. A Lebanese spokesperson says an Israeli bulldozer entered Lebanese territory. Their soldiers opened fire and the Israelis returned fire. A UN spokesperson says they have characterised the incident as serious The Lebanese army has been put on high alert. Authorities say they are ready to stop any Israeli incursion should it cross into Lebanese territory.

British Muslims say they are living in a police state. Two men arrested last week in connection with the “Iraq-style” kidnapping and beheading plot were released without charges. On of the men identified as Abu Bakar, described how he was detained and questioned. He says British terror laws are designed specifically for Muslims.”“We are feeling the brunt of it all.” Nine men were arrested a week ago in connection with the alleged plot to kidnap and behead a British Muslim soldier. Seven men are still being questioned by police.

Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal and Fatah leader met for peace talks in Makkah MuKarramah. Both have vowed not to leave the city until an agreement is reached to end the deadly power struggle in Palestine. Hamas officials say they expect an agreement will be reached within three days. King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia invited the Palestinian leaders to Makkah to try an end the internal fighting that has killed more then 90 Palestinians.

A Muslim New York taxi driver has returned a black bag carrying 31 diamond rings to a passenger who used his service. Hours after Chowdhury Osman, a native of Bangladesh, had dropped off the passenger, he tracked her down and returned the bag, which she had left in the taxi's boot. Earlier in the day the women gave Osman a 30cent tip for an $11 ride. When he returned the expensive bag the unidentified woman, who is a jeweller, offered a $100 reward. Osman reluctantly accepted the money to cover the taxi fares he lost while tracking her down.
