PERSONALITY
Abu Mohammed, Al-Qaasim bin Mohammed bin Abi Bakr Al-Sadeeq was of the eminent Al-Taabi'een and one of the seven jurists of Madinah. He was similar in appearance to his grandfather, Abu Bakr. He was virtuous, pious, a reliable source and an acutely intelligent scholar of the sunnah, for the people of his era. Magnanimous, with a pleasant nature, if one quarrelled with him about something, he said to him, "Is this what you want to contend with me in; to you it is; indeed it was the right; it is to you it yields and do not commend me in it; and truly it was mine; and you of it in solution and it to you.”

He was of whom introduced hadith word for word and was scarcely defective with one. It has been narrated that 'Umar bin 'Abd Al-'Aziz said, "If it was me that ordered this (thing), it would not it succeed except by Al-Qaasim bin Mohammed". When that reached Al-Qaasim, he said, "Indeed my family debilitates me, so how (would I be) with the affairs of the nation". It has been reported that a Beduoin asked him, "Is the scholar you or Saalim?". He responded, "All praises are for Allah, he informs you what knowledge is". He said, "Are you a scholar?". He responded, "Glory be to Allah". He returned and said, "That is Saalim, rush and ask him." He rose for him. He thought that he said that I am the scholar he recommended. He thought that he said Saalim is a scholar of me. He lied.

He was blind in the last of his days. He died in Qudaid, which is between Makkah and Madinah, while on the Hajj, or visiting.

DUA/PRAYER
The Messenger of Allah used to solicit protection for Al-Hasan and Al-Hussein, may Allah be pleased with them [saying]: 'U`eethukumã bikalimãtil-lãhi 'at-tãmmati min kulli shaytãnin wa hãmmatin, wa min kulli `eynin lãmmatin… I solicit the protection of the two of you in the perfect, and complete Words of Allah from every shaytãn and venomous reptile, and from every evil eye.

AND… FOR THE KIDDIES
Sayyadina Hasan al-Basri RA once fell sick. His neighbour, an unbeliever, came to pay him a visit. "O Imam," he exclaimed, "I detect a bad smell." The Imam told him it was caused by illness, but the neighbour insisted: "That is not the odour of sickness. It is a lavatory smell. For the love of Allah, tell me what it is!" He had not noticed that sewage was leaking from his house into that of the Imam.

When the neighbour pressed him, the Imam finally said: "For some months your drain has been seeping through to our side. I tried to fix it, but without success." His neighbour asked why he had not told him before, but the venerable Imam said: "I might have offended you." The unbeliever was so impressed by this ethical refinement that he was ennobled with True Faith, for he recognized the Imam's morality as a ray of Islam.

COOKING TIP
Garlic is well known for its protective qualities. Place a bulb of garlic on your kitchen window, or hang a rope of garlic in your kitchen. Do not ever use these for food--remember, they are there collecting negative energy. Periodically, remove the garlic and bury in the earth. Remember to thank the garlic and the earth for their service to you.

QUOTE
Ibraheem An-Nakha'ee: "Those who were destroyed in the past, were surely destroyed because of three bad habits: Wasting time in useless talks, excessive eating, and excessive sleeping."

A THOUGHT
The great quantity of water in the seas makes our earth habitable. If the proportion of sea to land on the earth were smaller, then lands would turn into deserts and life would be impossible. A diligent person who thinks about these matters is completely convinced that the establishment of such a perfect balance on the earth is surely not a coincidence. Seeing and thinking about all these shows that a Creator Who is exalted and the owner of eternal power has created everything for a purpose.

THE SMILE
There was this man who was in a horrible accident, and was injured. But the only permanent damage he suffered was the amputation of both of his ears. As a result of this "unusual" handicap, he was very self-conscious about his having no ears.

Because of the accident, he received a large sum of money from the insurance company. It was always his dream to own his own business, so he decided with all this money he had, he now had the means to own a business. So he went out and purchased a small, but expanding computer firm. But he realized that he had no business knowledge at all, so he decided that he would have to hire someone to run the business.

He picked out three top candidates, and interviewed each of them.

The first interview went really well. He really liked this guy. His last question for this first candidate was "Do you notice anything unusual about me?" The guy said, "Now that you mention it, you have no ears." The man got really upset and threw the guy out.

The second interview went even better than the first. This candidate was much better than the first. Again, to conclude the interview, the man asked the same question again, "Do you notice anything unusual about me?"

The guy also noticed, "Yes, you have no ears." The man was really upset again, and threw this second candidate out.

Then he had the third interview. The third candidate was even better than the second, the best out of all of them. Almost certain that he wanted to hire this guy, the man once again asked; "Do you notice anything unusual about me?"

The guy replied "Yeah, I bet you are wearing contact lenses."

Surprised, the man then asked, "Wow! That's quite perceptive of you! How could you tell?"

The guy burst out laughing and said you can't wear glasses if you don't have any ears!
