THE MESSAGE
ALLAH THE ONE AND THE ONLY GOD
Allah is the name of the One and Only God. Allah has ninety-nine beautiful names, such as: The Gracious, The Merciful, The Beneficent, The Creator, The All-Knowing, The All-Wise, The Lord of the Universe, The First, The Last, and others. He is the Creator of all human beings. He is the God for the Christians, the Jews, the Muslims, the Buddhists, the Hindus, the atheists, and others. Muslims worship God whose name is Allah. They put their trust in Him and they seek His help and His guidance.

MUHAMMAD PBUH
Muhammad PBUH was chosen by God to deliver His Message of Peace, namely Islam. He was born in 570 C.E. (Common Era) in Makkah, Arabia. He was entrusted with the Message of Islam when he was at the age of forty years. The revelation that he received is called the Qur'an, while the message is called Islam. Muhammad is the very last Prophet of God to mankind. He is the final Messenger of God. His message was and is still to the Christians, the Jews and the rest of humankind. He was sent to those religious people to inform them about the true mission of Jesus, Moses, Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham.

Muhammad PBUH is considered to be the summation and the culmination of all the prophets and messengers that came before him. He purified the previous messages from adulteration and completed the Message of God for all humanity. He was entrusted with the power of explaining, interpreting and living the teaching of the Qur'an.

NEWS
The petrol price in SA could be cut by some 15 cents a litre at the beginning of August. This comes despite the rising price of international oil. The Rand has been doing well and has led to an over-recovery.

All 13 remaining people at a hostage drama at a supermarket in Mthatha
have been rescued. Eastern Cape police say they have found no hostage takers.

Cape Town Disaster Management is assisting people living in various informal settlements in Cape Town. Their shacks were flooded by heavy rainfall yesterday.

South Africa’s ambassador to the United Nations, Dumisani khumalo says South Africa cannot afford to lose tourists due to crime. He was robbed in Johannesburg at the weekend.

Amnesty International has called on the leaders of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) to redouble their efforts to end human rights violations in Zimbabwe.

A Taliban deadline for the release of 23 of their fighters in exchange for 23 Koreans has passed. The fate of 23 South Koreans and one German held hostage in Afghanistan is said to be at a "vital stage".

Armed men have fired four rockets into the Pakistani city of Bannu killing 10 people and wounding 35. The rockets hit two houses, a masjid and a shop. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

RECIPE
Naan Rotis
Ingredients
1 ¾ cup self raising flour
1 tsp salt
¼ cup yoghurt
½ cup warm water

Method
Mix the flour, salt, and yoghurt together.
Add water a little at a time to make a soft dough.
Knead and cover with a cloth, leave for 1 hour.
Preheat grill and place a baking tray under the grill.
Divide the dough into eight pieces.
Roll out into round rotis.
Place 2 rotis at a time on the heated baking tray and bake until light brown specks appear.
Remove from oven and brush with melted butter.

HANDY HINT
Record all expenditures. This slows down spending and people find out exactly where their hard-earned Rands are going.

POEM
AM I ALONE?
I get a funny feeling,
It comes from deep inside.
I get all mad and angry,
Wanting to go and hide.

My doctor calls it depression,
My dad says it's just me.
But the thoughts and feelings,
No one will ever be able to see.

Some say I'm psycho,
Some say I'm just weird.
It's like I'm a different person,
And the old me just disappeared.

I get really edgy,
I want to commit suicide real bad.
Then I get a headache,
Followed by feeling sad.

I wish I could get help,
I wish it would go away.
Maybe if I keep praying real hard,
It will some day.

THE SMILE
Two avid fishermen go on a fishing trip. They rent all the equipment: the reels, the rods, the wading suits, the rowboat, the car, and even a cabin in the woods. They spend a fortune.

The first day they go fishing, but they don't catch anything. The same thing happens on the second day, and on the third day. It goes on like this until finally, on the last day of their vacation, one of the men catches a fish.

As they're driving home they're really depressed. One guy turns to the other and says, "Do you realize that this one lousy fish we caught cost us fifteen hundred dollars?"

The other guy says, "Wow! It's a good thing we didn't catch any more!"
