THE MESSAGE
INTEREST
A CONTRACT OF SERVITUDE
----------------------------
Throughout history, there existed various forms of slavery. In the dark ages, people were captured and sold on the slave markets. Thereafter, the colonial masters enslaved entire nations. Today we have perhaps the most intricate network of enslavement strategies... Strategies that threaten to enslave the entire human race. The institution of "Riba" (interest) through financial houses like the World Bank and IMF govern and control practically every developing country in the world. Under the guise of foreign aid, the mineral wealth of an entire country is usurped and every individual directly or indirectly contributes to servicing the foreign debt of his country. A child is born into this world already indebted. "Debtorship" is the unique inheritance and heritage bestowed on him by his country, ‘The tragedy is that these injustices not only go unpunished, they go unrecognised.

The Slave Masters - Lord Stamp, a director of the Bank of England made the following statement before he was killed: "Banking was conceived in inequity and born in sin. Bankers own the earth; take it away from them but leave them with the power to create credit and with a flick of a pen; they will create enough money to buy it all back again…. If you want to be slaves of bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery then let bankers control money and control credit." read more

DUA (PRAYER)
Asking for Allah's Guidance - Al-Istikhaara
The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam taught us to ask Allah's guidance in all matters just like he taught us a Surah out of the Quran. He would say: If one of you intends on doing a certain matter, let him pray two Rakaahs, then let him say:

Allãhumma 'innee 'astakheeruka bi`ilmika, wa 'astaqdiruka biqudratika, wa 'as'aluka min fadhlikal-`atheemi, fa'innaka taqdiru wa lã 'aqdiru, wa ta`lamu wa lã 'a`lamu, wa 'anta `allãmul-ghuyoobi, 'allãhumma 'in kunta ta`lamu 'anna hãthal 'amra - and [here] you name it [the affair] by its name - khayrun lee fee deenee wa ma`ãshee wa `ãqibati 'amree, wa`ãjilihi wa'ãjilihi, faqdurhu lee wa yassirhu lee, thumma bãriklee feeh, wa 'in kunta ta`lamu 'anna hãthal-'amra sharrun lee fee deenee wa ma'ãshee wa `ãqibati 'amree, wa`ãjilihi wa'ãjilihi, fasrifhu `annee wasrifnee `anhu, waqdurlee 'al-khayra haythu kãna, thumma radh-dhinee bihi.

O' my 'ilah I ask your guidance due to your knowledge, and I ask your help due to your ability. For You are able and I'm not able, You know and I don't Know, and You are the one that knows the hidden matters. O' my 'ilah if You know that this affair - and you name it by its name - is better for me in my faith, my livelihood, the aftermath of my affair, its short term, and its long term, then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and bestow blessings for me in it; and if You know that this affair is bad for me in my faith, my livelihood, the aftermath of my affair, its short term, and its long term, then turn it away from me, and turn me away from it; and decree for me the good where ever it is, and then content me with it.

One that asks Allah's guidance in any matter, and consults with His creation, then acts deliberately would never regret his action. Then when you have taken a decision put your trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust [in Him].

AND… FOR THE KIDDIES
A Ship's Journey
Written by: Abdallah Ahmad
-----------------------------
A ship was moving through the calm sea, with its passengers enjoying the beautiful scene of the sea. Suddenly, a storm blew causing the waves to rise and the ship to swing. It was destined to sink, but Allah's Grace saw to it that it reached a far away island safely. The captain decided to deck on that island's shore till the sea calmed down again.

The passengers looked around them. The Divine creation was obvious in the beauty of every tree and flower in the island, which seemed uninhabited. Fascinated by the charming Scenery, most of the passengers wanted to tour around to enjoy this beauty, relax and forget all about the troubles they had faced. They asked for the captain's permission. He agreed on one condition: that they must come back upon hearing the first signal indicating that the sea became calm. He added that they should go home before another storm broke.

The passengers toured around the island. Attracted by the beautiful views, some of them went into the bushes, and began to collect many things to give to their relatives and beloved ones back home. Whereas the rest, who thought carefully about their situation, concluded that the ship couldn't carry all the things they intended to bring, and decided to take in only their basic needs that would help them in making their journey. They went back to the shore carrying only their vital supplies, and waited patiently for the storm to calm down. Soon, the captain saw that the weather was clear. He signaled once and twice asking the passengers to get aboard right away.

The first to arrive were those who were already waiting. They climbed up carrying their essentials, and they naturally found plenty of room to sit comfortably around the ship. Some of the other passengers hurried back, carrying the precious stones, fruits and flowers. When they reached the ship as it was setting sail, they realized that there was not enough room left to accommodate all what they brought. Thus, they had to throw all of the riches away.

A third group of passengers who were preoccupied with seeking more precious stones, fruits and beautiful flowers, were so much attracted by what they had seen that they did not respond to the signals coming from the ship.

Finally, the ship set sail leaving them behind, for it had to reach home safely before another storm erupted.

They did not realize that the ship had left, except after dark. They were very exhausted and they slept deeply, hoping that they will be saved one day.

The ship reached home after a long and tiresome journey that made the passengers, who were not attracted to the charm and beauty of the island, know the true meaning of survival.

They felt that the fate of those who were left on the island is like the fate of the people who are fascinated by the pleasures and joys of this world: They got fully engaged in them that they forgot that they will return back to their Creator to be either punished or rewarded.

Allah, the most Exalted, said in His Glorious Book: In the Name of Allah the Compassionate, The Merciful. "Let the life of this world not deceive you, nor let the dissembler trick you concerning Allah.” Allah the Most Exalted speaketh the Truth.

A THOUGHT
A precious and a desired object may be of any of three categories: what is sought as a means to an end, what is sought for its own [intrinsic value], and what is sought for both. What is sought for its own [intrinsic value] is nobler and more excellent than that which is sought as a means to an end. The dirham and the Dinar are objects sought as means to an end to secure other objects. In themselves they are only two useless metals; and had not Allah made it possible to transact business through them, they would have been the same as pebbles. Happiness in the hereafter and the ecstasy’ of viewing the face of Allah are sought for their own [intrinsic value], while physical health is sought both for its own [intrinsic value] and as a means to an end. Man’s health, for example, is sought because it is a guarantee against bodily pain, and also because it helps [man] to reach his ends and [secure his] needs. Similarly, if you would consider [the case of] knowledge, you would discover that it is in itself delightful and therefore sought for its own [intrinsic value], and you would also find it a way which leads to the hereafter and its happiness, and the only means whereby we come close to Allah.
