QUOTE
George Bernard Shaw, THE GENUINE ISLAM
"I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today."
PERSONALITY

Abu Mohammed, Abdullah bin Roowaahah Al-Ansaari Al-Khazraji
------------------------------------------------------------------
A
companion of the Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam. He was a composer of poetry in the pre-Islamic days. He participated at Al-Aqabah, as a leader of his people.

The Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam forged a relationship as brothers between him (Abdullah bin Rowwaahah) and Al-Muqadaad. He participated in the Battle of Badr. After the battle was over, the Messenger of Allah dispatched him to Al-Madinah to announce the good news of their victory to the Muslims. He was a participant in all of the battles after that, until his martyrdom in the Battle of Mu'tah.

His worship of and service to Allah was boundless. If he met a man of the companions, he said to him, "Come! Believe in the Hour!" The Prophet (Peace be upon him) complimented him by saying, "Allah's Mercy on Abdullah bin Roowaahah, indeed he loves the companions, the ones of whom the Angels boast." He also said of him, "What an excellent man is Abdullah bin Roowaahah."

He was one of the three poets who challenged the disbelievers and championed the Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam, Islam and the Muslims. Abdullah bin Roowaahah's collection of poetry was mainly in defence of Islam and satyrisation of the polytheists, including exhortations of the self on piety, jihaad and requesting martyrdom.

Hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood members have demonstrated across northern Egypt, accusing the government. Nine Brotherhood members were arrested, four in the town of Tanta, where supporters clashed with police, and five more in Qalyubiya province.

Britain says they will delay pulling their troops out of Iraq. They attribute the delay to the recent unrest in Basra. This is despite the fact that the clashes have come to a halt after Al Mahdi Army leader, Muqtada al Sadr called his fighters off the streets.

Zimbabwe face a runoff vote. Tsvangirai's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and the ruling Zanu-PF are tied in the parliamentary elections.

The parents of a matric pupil at a top private school in the city have obtained an interdict against a woman after making contact with their daughter in the MXit chatroom. The parents claim that the woman who is in her twenties is obsessed with their teenage daughter.

A Muslim man and his family were harassed at O.R TRambo International Airport allegedly because of the way he was dressed. Moosa Essop told 702 news that the harassment was conducted by security officials and police. It is believed he and 13 others were having lunch at the airport earlier this week when they were approached by an Israeli airline security official and police officers. the officers then demanded the group produce their ID documents and passports without giving them a valid reason for the impromptu security check. Essop says he refused to comply with their request as he felt they were being singled out possibly because of their traditional Muslim clothing. Airport authorities say they're investigating the incident.

FIQH

It is not permissible to touch the Qur'an without Wudu (ablution). But if it is touched with a cloth, which the person is not wearing, then it will be permissible. To touch it with a scarf or sleeve of a shirt while it is being worn will not be permissible. But if one touches it while it (i.e. the scarf or shirt) is not being worn, it will be permissible.

It is permissible to read the Qur'an from memory without Wudu. If the Qur'an is open and one looks into it and reads from it without touching it, then this is also permissible. In the same way, it is not permissible to touch an amulet (ta'wiz) or a plate on which the verses of the Qur'an are written without Wudu.

A THOUGHT

EVERYTHING YOU POSSESS IS A FAVOUR FROM ALLAH
------------------------------------------------------
We taste delicious flavours. The relative proportions of the vitamin, mineral, carbohydrate or protein content of the food we eat, or how the excess of these nutrients are stored or utilised in the body never concern us. Moreover, we are mostly never aware that such complicated operations take place in our body.

When we hold some material in our hands, we immediately know if it is soft or hard. What is more, we need no mental effort to do this. Numerous similar minute operations take place in our body. The organs, responsible for these operations, have complicated mechanisms. The human body functions almost like a factory of enormous complexity and ingenuity. This body is one of the major favours given to man since man leads his existence on earth with it.

THE SMILE

THE WAITING ROOM
--------------------
There were three fathers to be in a hospital waiting room, waiting for their babies to be born.

The first nurse comes out and tells the first father, "Congratulations you're the father of twins!" He says, “Great! I am the manager for the Minnesota Twins.”

The second nurse comes out and tells the second father, "Congratulations you're the father of triplets”! He says, "That's cool! I work for 3M."

The third father opens the window and jumps out.

The third nurse comes out, and asks, “Where's the third father?"

One of the other fathers said, "Oh he jumped out the window.”

The nurse asks, "Why?"

He replied, "He works for Seven Up!"
