A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:
For cutting the grass: $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00
For going to the store for you: $.50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25
Taking out the garbage: $1.00
For getting a good report card: $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00
Total owed: $14.75
Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he'd written on, and this is what she wrote:
For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:
No Charge
For all the nights that I've sat up with you, doctored and prayed for
you:
No Charge
For all the trying times, and all the tears that you've caused through
the years:
No Charge
For
all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew
were ahead:
No Charge
For
the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No Charge
Son,
when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge.
When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, "Mom, I sure do love you." And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: "PAID IN FULL".
Lessons:
• You will never how much your parents worth till you become a parent
• Be a giver not an asker, especially with your parents. there is a lot
to give, besides money.
Advice: IF your mom is alive and close to you, give her a big kiss and ask her for forgiveness. If she is far away, call her. if she passed away, pray for her.
The tenth day of Muharram which will fall on Thursday 16 December 2010, known as Aashura, is a very virtuous and significant day in the Islamic calendar. On this day, there are few devotional acts, which we should fulfill. Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam has advised and encouraged His Ummah to fast on this day.
Ibn Abbas Radiyallahu Anhu reports that nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam came to Madinah and found the Jews fasting on the tenth of Muharram. Hence Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam enquired of them, "What is the significance of this day on which you fast?" They replied, "This is a righteous day. On this day Allah Ta'aala saved the Bani Isra'eel from their enemy. Therefore Moosa Alaihi Salaam fasted on this day. Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "I am more worthy of Moosa Alaihi Salaam than you." (Muslim)
From that day onward Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam fasted on this day and commanded others to fast as well. According to the Hanafi school of thought fasting on this day was obligatory for the Ummah before the fasts of Ramadaan were prescribed. This alone will give us an idea of how valuable and blessed it is to fast on this day. When encouraging others we should not force anyone bearing in mind that the fast is not compulsory.

2kg leg of lamb cleaned and washed
1/4 cup cooking oil
1/4 cup butter melted
1 Tbsp chilli powder
2 tsp Crushed coriander seeds
1 Tbsp crushed cumin seeds
2 Tbsp freshly ground pepper
1 Tbsp curry powder
3 Tbsp ginger & garlic paste
Salt and taste
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup ground almonds
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup natural yoghurt
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp sultanas optional
Preheat oven to 180 o C. pat dry the leg of lamb and place in large bowl. In a medium bowl, mix together oil, chilli, coriander, cumin, pepper, curry powder, salt, ginger and garlic and 1/4 cup water to make a paste; keep aside until required. In a food processor, combine breadcrumbs, almonds, sesame seeds, yoghurt, lemon juice and sultanas. Add to spice mixture and blend well. Rub mixture over meat to cover well. Using a large piece of foil sprayed with non – stick cooking spray, enclose meat and place in an ovenproof dish; cook for 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. remove lamb from oven, open foil and baste meat with cooking juices. Return the meat to oven, uncovered, for 45 min or until cooked right through and tender. Allow lamb to stand for 15 min then slice into thick slices. Serve with roasted ribbon vegetables yellow rice and salad.

Due to inherit a fortune when his sickly, widower father died, Charles decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. Going to a singles' hangout, he spotted a woman whose beauty took his breath away.
