QURAAN LESSONS

SURAH AL- Jinn 72: (Jinns)

This Surah is Makki. It has 28 verses and 2 sections.
With the name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Very- Merciful

"We have no idea whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Rabb intends guidance for them" [10] "Among us there are the righteous ones and those who are otherwise. We were of different ways" [11] "We know that we are unable to escape Allah on earth and we shall never be able to escape from Him by fleeing" [12]

COMMENTARY: The previous verses spoke about how the Jinn used to eavesdrop. However when revelation started coming to Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, they were prevented from doing such acts.

In todays verses the Jinn mention that since they cannot eavesdrop anymore, they have no knowledge regarding the condition of the people on earth. They also mention that, just like humans there are some of them who turned away from Allah Ta'aala. The Jinn also recognize the power of Allah Ta'aala as mentioned in verse 12 i.e. last verse of todays lesson.

POEM

THE INEVITABLE

For years I have been trying to avoid you
Indulged in the world, how time flew

Now that time has really caught up with me
From you there is no place to hide or flee

I kept fooling myself with the word "Tomorrow"
If only time was a commodity one could buy or borrow

But tomorrow never comes, that I always knew
For a few precious seconds I'd give anything in lieu

The day you would come had already been decreed
You are inevitable, a visit that everyone is guaranteed

For your un-anticipated arrival I did not prepare
I lived my life in this mortal world without a care

Numerous matters unattended to and numerous things undone
Only now I realise this world is not at all pleasure and fun

It seems to me as though without a warning you came
But so many before me have gone through the same

They say its never too late to put right whats wrong
But now that you've arrived I realized I waited too long

There are so many things in this world I'd like to amend
But it's too late now, to those wrongs I cannot tend

All those you visited never lived to tell the tale
Each of them knowing you would arrive without fail

Earlier than expected, to many was your advent
All those people came to this world, then just went

You were a thought that occurred only once in a while
Due to which for a few seconds I would be unable to smile

Then I'd get distracted and you were gone from my mind
Due to which of old age I became blind

Those whom you visited when their time finished
What is left of them now? They have diminished

From kings to slaves, their lives you've taken
Only now that I am to die, I have awakened

HEALTH TIP

Muscle Soreness and Cramps

Soaking in the tub with Epsom salts and baking soda (3 cups each) can alleviate muscle cramps, as well as soreness from overexertion. The Epsom salts will add magnesium to your body through the skin, which is more effective than taking a supplement by mouth. Another way to do this is to rub magnesium oil directly to the muscle that is sore or is cramping.

THE SMILE

A lady calls the police to report her husband is missing. The police arrive and ask for a description. She tells them he's 6 foot 2 inches tall, blonde wavy hair and has a smile that makes everybody love him. The police then go to the next door neighbour to verify this report and the lady next door tells the police, "You can't believe her. He's 5 foot 4 inches tall, has no hair and he wears a perpetual frown on his face." The neighbour then goes and asks the lady why she gave the police such a false report. She replies, "Just because I reported him missing, doesn't mean I wanted him back!"
