THE MOSQUITO

The Mosquito, an ordinary little creature! Allah gives us its example in the Quran, to show us how this little creature has an extremely complicated nature.

1- It is a female.
2- It has one hundred eyes in its head.
3- It has 48 teeth in its mouth.
4- Inside its little body there are three complete Hearts.
5- It has six knives in its nose and each knife has its special use.
6- It has three wings on each side.
7- In the body of this insect is a digital X-RAY machine, which it uses to distinguish the human skin in the dark, in violet colour.
8- Its body also contains a small vaccine working as a local anaesthetic to help it to insert its thorns in the human skin without any feel or pain caused by the suction of the blood.
9- It has an instrument for blood testing, because it doesn't like all blood types.
10-It has a special mechanism to speed up the blood flow so it can draw it faster.

And the most strange discovery by Science is that there is another very small microscopic insect living on top of this Mosquito.

That is what Allah Ta'aala means in the Noble Quraan: "Lo! Allah disdaineth not to coin the similitude even of a Mosquito and whatever is above it." (Baqara, Verse 26)

How is it possible to crush with our fingers, a creature that has the ability to pierce through our skin. Now lets ponder for a while...Can man produce such a miracle. If man, with all their wealth, intelligence and technology come together and attempt to create a mosquito... they will fail hopelessly!

FIQH (Practical Aspects)

DUA (SUPPLICATION)

Q. When can a person make Dua?
A. Unlike other acts of worship, a person can make Dua at any time of the day.

Q. Can Dua be made in any language?
A. Yes, Dua can be made in any language. Dua should be made in a language where the person has the ability to express him/herself the best. Dua can also be made in multiple languages e.g. Begin with arabic and thereafter ask in english.

Q. Is wudhu necessary for Dua?
A. Wudhu is not necessary however it is better to make Dua with Wudhu. Dua is also not confined to the Masjid. A person can make Dua anywhere.

Q. Is there any recommended method of making Dua?
A. It is reccomended to start your Dua with the praises of Allah, then send peace (Durood) upon Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, then commence with your supplication. In the same way when one has completed his/her Dua, he/she should end his/her Dua by first sending peace (Durood) upon Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, then praising Allah. A person should make Dua in a humble manner adopting humility and showing Allah Ta'aala that he/she is in need.

Q. Is it necessary that ones Dua is accepted?
A. Yes, all Duas are accepted however it can be accepted in three ways:
1) A person gets what he/she asks for immediately or at a later stage in life.
2) He/She does not get exactly what he/she asks for however his/her dua will be a means of saving him/her from a future calamity that was meant for him/her.
3) The Dua will not be answered in this life. He/She will see the reward for making that Dua in the hereafter. When a person sees the reward for making a particular Dua, he/she will wish that none of his/her Duas got accepted in this world.

NEWS

* "Winnie Mandela was out of control. She was more out of control than her bodyguard." These are the words of Warrant Officer Jannie Odendaal - who, along with Constable Abel Twala, was involved in an altercation with Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and her bodyguard Jacob Monare late last year - in a video he posted on YouTube.

* A teenager died after being hit by a truck while cycling in Camperdown, 50km outside Durban, paramedics said.

* It seems that even ministers are not exempt from the City of Johannesburg's billing crisis. Minister of Cooperative Governance Sicelo Shiceka is now refusing to pay for a R34,000 bill for his Vorna Valley home in Midrand.

* Astonished by the uprising in Egypt, Western countries anxious to be on the right side of history have started to reassess ties to army-backed Arab strongmen stubbornly opposed to democracy.

* At least 50 people have died as a mutiny in the Sudan army spread through towns in oil-producing Upper Nile state, stoking tension as the south prepares for independence, the military said.

RECIPE
KEBABS - Serves 4
INGREDIENTS

1 kg firm fish: kingklip, salmon, kabeljou - 1 red, 1 yellow and 1 green pepper.

MARINADE
100 ml olive oil - 60 ml fresh lemon juice - 2 cloves garlic, finely crushed - Salt and freshly ground black pepper - 1 bay leaf - 5-10 ml Tabasco sauce - 8 kebab sticks, soaked in water for 30 minutes.

METHOD
Prepare fish by cutting into blocks. Seed peppers, cut into blocks and set aside. Combine all ingredients for marinade and make up kebabs by alternating fish with pepper on kebab sticks. Place kebabs in marinade and leave for 1 to 2 hours. Remove from marinade and grill or braai, brushing frequently with marinade, and serve immediately.

HANDY HINT
* Ant problem: Ants hate cucumbers. Keep the skin of cucumbers near the place or ant hole.
* To remove chewing gum from clothes: Keep the cloth in the freezer for an hour.
* To rid the smell of fish from your hands: Wash your hands with a little apple vinegar.

THE SMILE

TEACHER: Now, Simon, tell me frankly, do you say prayers before eating?
SIMON: No sir, I don't have to, my Mom is a good cook.

TEACHER: Clyde, your composition on 'My Dog' is exactly the same as your brother's... Did you copy his?
CLYDE: No, sir. It's the same dog.

TEACHER: Harold, what do you call a person who keeps on talking when people are no longer interested?
HAROLD: A teacher.
