STORY
THE BARBERSHOP

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists." "Why do you say that?" asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving a God who would allow all of these things." The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist." "How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!" "No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty, long and untidy hair , like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me." "Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for him."

Allah, The Most Wise says (interpretation of the meaning): "Say: He, Allah, is One. Allah is He on Whom all depend. He begets not, nor is He begotten. And none is like Him." ( Al-Ikhlas/112 : 1-4)

Allah's Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) as saying: "...Do you know what belief in Allah really implies? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: It implies testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah..."
(sahih muslim Book #001, Hadith #0023)

Narrated by Abu Huraira Radiyallahu anhu: Allah's Apostle was asked, "What is the best deed?" He replied, "To believe in Allah and His Apostle (Muhammad)..."
(sahih Bukhari Book #2, Hadith #25)

Narrated by Anas Radiyallahu anhu: The Prophet Sallallahu alaihi Wa Sallam said, "Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith: 1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle becomes dearer than anything else. 2. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah's sake. 3. Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire."
(Sahih Bukhari Book #2, Hadith #15)

MESSAGE

A BEAUTIFUL PRAYER

* I asked Allah to take away my habit. Allah said, No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.

* I asked Allah to make my handicapped child whole. Allah said, No. His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

* I asked Allah to grant me patience. Allah said, No. Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is learned.

* I asked Allah to give me happiness. Allah said, No. I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.

* I asked Allah to spare me pain. Allah said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.

* I asked Allah to make my spirit grow. Allah said, No. You must grow on your own! but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

* I asked Allah for all things that I may enjoy life. Allah said, No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.

* I ask Allah to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me. Allah said..., finally you have the idea.

THIS DAY IS YOURS DON'T THROW IT AWAY MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU,

"To the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world"

Rasool Allah (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) has proclaimed:

1. The person who is always in a state of wazoo, Allah will increase his livelihood!

2. The person who doesn't reveal his needs to others, his needs are soon fulfilled!

3. Allah Ta-ala keeps that person healthy and happy (abaad) who after listening to Hadith forwards it to others!

HEALTH TIP

With the change of season, it's the ideal time to detox our bodies which will have a soothing effect on the mind & help the body expel impurities. Here's how...

1.squeeze half a lemon in half a cup of water & drink at Fajar time. this is an excellent tonic for overworked livers!

2. Soak in a hot bath with 1kg epssom salts for about 15 minutes. wear warm pyjamas, jump into bed because this causes extreme fatigue. Soaking in epssom salts, encourages your body to sweat out toxins.

3. when your liver & kidney are overworked, your skin suffers from excess toxins found in the bloodstream. Exfoilate daily before you shower with a body brush or loofah. Start from your feet, in circular movements, working upwards towards the heart. This will result in soft, firm, luminous skin.

4.Give your digestive system a break! Fast atleast once a week... ideally twice a week is sunnah! Open your fast with something healthy... wholewheat sandwich with salad & chicken strips or a rice dish. rice has high levels of potassium which speeds up the expulsion of toxins. Fasting helps decontaminate the liver & kidney.

5. Don't forget to drink up to 8 glasses of water. If you're lazy to drink that much water in winter have some herbal teas too.

6. There's no way you can improve your wellbeing without exercise! Movement is the best way to activate blood circulation, which in turn promotes the elemination of toxins through the lungs & perspiration, while jump starting the lymphatic system. So, use the stairs instead of the lift, walk to the masjid or to work if possible & try for at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. Your rewards??? glowing skin, toned body, more energy & better sleep at night!

THE SMILE

It was home time and a grade one teacher noticed that one of the smaller boys was struggling to put on a pair of cowboy boots. She went over to help but even with her pulling and him pushing, it was quite a struggle to get the boots on. By the time they had managed to get the second one on, she had worked up quite a sweat. She almost cried when the little boy said, "Miss, they on the wrong feet." It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on.

She managed to keep her cool as, together, they sweated to get the boots back on this time on the right feet. He then announced, "These aren't my boots." She bit her tongue and instead of screaming, "Why didn't you say so?" She once again struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his confounded little feet. No sooner had they got the boots off then he announced, "They're my brother's boots. My mom made me wear them."

Now, she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. But she mustered up what patience she had left to wrestle the boots back on to his feet again. The day was cold and at last helped him into his coat. Sheasked, "Don't you have any gloves?" He replied, "I stuffed them in the toes of my boots."
