The object of Taubah is to regret and be remorseful over one's actions. One should ponder in this manner:

"I have committed this error whereas I was not supposed to have done so."

By showing remorse and regret, a person is pleading before Almighty Allah Ta'ala to forgive his wrongdoings and shortfalls. However, some necessary steps are essential for the acceptance of this repentance. Paying mere lip service and proclaiming,

"Forgive my sins, I am repenting", is insufficient.

A father once reprimanded his four-year-old child for nagging him for some money. The child immediately caught hold of both of his ears with his hands (in a manner of repenting), expressing that he was sorry.

"Will you nag me again?" the father asked.

"No, Never again," the child replied, but he struck his father on his knee and said: "Now give me the money since I have repented."

Our repentance, nowadays, is similar to this child's repentance. We feel that merely mentioning the word Taubah is sufficient and no other recourse is required.

Method
Line 24 muffin tins with paper cases. Cream butter, sugar, essence and colouring until light & fluffy. Add eggs gradually, beating well after each addition. Fold in sifted flour baking powder salt and coconut. Spoon half the batter evenly into 24 paper cases. Top centre of each muffin with half a teaspoon chocolate spread. Spoon remaining batter evenly over chocolate spread. Bake at 180 for about 25 minutes until done. Decorate.
