THE FRIDAY KHUTBAH (SERMON)
THE VIRTUE OF GIVING

By Sheikh Abdul-Bari ibn Awad Al-Thebeiti - 20 Rabial Awal 1434

Sheikh Abdul-Bari ibn Awad Al-Thebeiti, may Allah preserve him, delivered the Friday sermon entitled “The Virtue of Giving”. In this sermon, he talked about giving and generosity and their virtues, and explained that the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam was the most generous of all people, and that he found greater joy in giving than one would find in receiving. Sheikh Al-Thebeiti also gave examples of the Companions’ acts of giving and charity, and mentioned some Prophetic sayings showing that the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam sought refuge in Allah from disability, miserliness, and stinginess.

Praise be to Allah, Who says, "As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, and believes in Al-Husnâ (The best reward from Allah), We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness)" [Al-Lail: 5-7].

I praise Allah, Glory be to Him, and thank Him for his countless blessings. I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship but Allah alone with no partner, Who says, "And the Bounties of your Lord can never be forbidden" [Al-Isra: 20]. And I bear witness that our master and Prophet Muhammad is His servant and Messenger to whom His Lord said, "And verily, your Lord will give you (all good) so that you shall be well-pleased" [Ad-Duha: 5]. O Allah, bestow Your peace and blessings upon him, his household, and his companions. read more

DUA (Prayer)
The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever enters the marketplace and says:

Lã 'ilãha 'illã 'allãhu wahdahu lã shareeka lahu, lahul mulku, wa lahul hamdu, yuhyee wa yumeetu, wa huwa hayyun lã yamootu, biyadihil khayru, wa huwa 'alã kulli shay'in qadeerun

There is no 'ilãh except Allah, no partner does He have; his is the Kingdom, and to Him is all Praise; He livens, and mortifies; and He is alive; never to die. In his Hand is all good, and He is well able to do everything.

Allah would write for him one thousand merits, would remit from him one thousand sins, and would raise for him [his status] one thousand levels".

OUR LATEST PODCAST
Noble Qualities of the Final Prophet SAW - His Forbearance - Part 2 of 2

In this amazing series, Ml Dawood Seedat brings alive the beautiful and extraordinary qualities of our master and leader, Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu’Alayhi Wa Sallam. In this podcast, Moulana further elucidated the forbearance, the tolerance of Rasulullah Sallallahu’Alayhi Wa Sallam.

Moulana explained the definition of forbearance; a person abstains from enforcing what is due to him. This, so aptly, describes this remarkable and rare quality of the final Messenger of Allah Ta`ala, Muhammad Sallallahu’Alayhi Wa Sallam. He was forbearing, tolerant, patient, moderate and very lenient.

Moulana cited the incident of Abu Sufyaan, Hinda and Wahshi, may Allah be Pleased with them, all who were severe against the Muslims in the early days, yet were graciously pardoned later by Rasulullah Sallallahu’Alayhi Wa Sallam.

GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH

A New York man was forced to take a day off from work to appear for a minor traffic summons. He grew increasingly restless as he waited hour after endless hour for his case to be heard.

When his name was called late in the afternoon, he stood before the judge only to hear that court would be adjourned for the next day and he would have to return.

"What for?" he snapped at the judge.

His Honor, equally irked by a tedious day and the sharp query, roared, "Twenty dollars contempt of court. That's what for!"

Then, noticing the man checking his wallet, the judge said, "It's all right. You don't have to pay now."

The young man replied, "I'm just seeing if I have enough for two more words!"
