Back in the days where innocence was circumscribing our world, we were unaware what life outside that wall of adolescence was. With a mind full of dreams and a heart sequestered with expectations, perhaps too many expectations though and there stood the transition of adulthood in readiness well packed in a cocoon of its own, with a whole set of challenges.

Teachers at school have always trained us to be career orientated and they have always reminded us that we need to settle a standard in society otherwise we are nothing! Growing up with this paramount thought, our mind has been in a sense manipulated only to study and work and to fit in society and to become a man/a lady where later confusion starts to foster it’s nest in our life and at certain point we start asking ourselves what we want to be, what we want to do and who we really are.

Amidst the shadow of an unknown destination we all have stumbled, and tried to find ourselves back. But one thing we did not realize at that time, is that Allah SWT has always been with us and He has been watching us all way long. Instead of always focusing on what society wanted us to be, we simply needed to raise our hands and ask Allah SWT to guide us. Have we done this? Many of us have been the prey of this 21st century and we can actually classify it as ‘Victimized adolescence’, and forgot that we were muslims and what our main aim on this Dunya is.

Allah says in the Holy Quran:

(And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks (by accepting faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My blessings); but if you are thankless (i.e., disbelievers), verily, My punishment is indeed severe.). [14:7]

In the pursuit of this Dunya we forget that life here is just a temporary journey that we will soon have to leave. We blindly follow all the tendencies of this Dunya; fashion, career, status, fame, wealth and so on and so forth. We keep running after the enjoyment of the Dunya although it keeps on hurting us more and more leaving us with no solace and no respite. We keep running after this Dunya consign to oblivion that Allah has created us solely for the main purpose of worshipping Him and to Him we shall return.

Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." [2:156]

Forgetting our main purpose is what makes us drown in the Dunya where we tend to think that life is composed only of what is around us here whereas Allah has promised us something much and much better than all the luxuries we can possess here.

“Allah has promised the men and women of the believers Gardens with rivers flowing under them, remaining in them timelessly, forever, and fine dwellings in the Gardens of Eden. And Allah's good pleasure is even greater. That is the great victory”. [9:72].

Reflection: It is time to renew our intention and to strieve for our Akhirah. What we have reaped on this Dunya is what we will sow in Akhirah.

Ml Muhammad Karolia, in this series, intended discussing the Aqeeda of a Muslim i.e. Belief of a Muslim, undoubtedly a critical lesson for all. Moulana highlighted various pertinent topics which were aimed at distinguishing the Correct beliefs from the incorrect beliefs. The most important aspect in any discussion of Belief, is our Lord Allah Ta’aala, the Creator of the Heavens and Earth.

In this discussion Moulana mentioned that scholars of Hadith have found that, by studying the Du’as of Rasulullah Sallallahu’Alayhi Wa Sallam, Allah Ta’ala possesses more than 99 Names or Attributes. From among the many Sifaat/Qualities of Allah Ta’ala there are 99 Special Names of Allah Ta’ala.
Rasulullah Sallallahu’Alayhi Wa Sallam, in a Hadith, said, `Inna Lillahi Ta’Ala Tisso Wa Tis’eena Isman, Man Ahsoha Dakhalal Jannah - Verily Allah Ta`ala Possesses 99 Names, whoever encompasses (memorises) all 99 Names will enter Jannah.’

Moulana expounded on the attribute Shafi, i.e. Allah is Shafi - the Possessor of Cure. It is a requirement of our Belief that all cure is from Allah Ta’ala alone. Ebrahim Alayhi Salaam told the tyrant Namrood that, `Wa Ithaa Maritu Fahuwa Yashfee - When I fall ill, He (Allah Alone) gives cure.’

The Ulama of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah, as Moulana explained, have studied as many Names of Allah that they could find and concluded that the Siffattul Kamaal - the Attributes of Perfection of Allah, may be condensed to 8 Attributes of Perfection. All the other attributes link up to these 8. Viz. Al `Ilm/Knowledge. Al Qudrah/Ability – Allah is Qadir Ala Kulli Shay – Able to do Everything. Hayaat/Life – Allah is All Alive. Al Quwwah/Strength – Allah is the Strongest. Al Sama`a/All Hearing. Al Basar/All Seeing. Al Iradatu Wal Mashee Ah/Allah Intends and Desires. Al Fi`alu Wat Takhleeq/Allah is the Doer and the Creator. Al Tarzeeq/Sustainer and Al Kalaam/Speech.
