THE FRIDAY KHUTBAH (SERMON)
LANDMARKS FOR MUSLIMS IN TIMES OF FITNAHS

By Sheikh Saleh Ibn Muhammad ?l-Talib- 30 Shawaal 1434

His Eminence Sheikh Saleh Ibn Muhammad ?l-Talib ?may Allah protect him? delivered the Friday Khutbah titled “Landmarks for Muslims in Times of Fitnahs.” In the khutbah, he spoke about Fitnahs and how the Muslim is expected to behave in order to sidestep them. Using evidence from the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah, the Sheikh demonstrated the magnitude of Fitnahs and the perils of being ensnared therein. He also said that once wrapped in obscurity, the Muslim should resort to the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah as well as to experienced scholars.

Praise be to Allah, praise that is followed by pure salutations! He is the source of assistance, for there is none but Him whose support is hoped for in times of distress and disasters. On Him we rely, and sufficient unto us and unto all creatures is Allah! I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship save Allah alone with no associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) is Allah’s Servant and Messenger. May Allah send His Salat (Graces, Honours, Mercy), Peace and Blessing onto him, his family, his offspring ?the most honourable of all offspring? his Companions (?) who were endowed with pure inner souls, and all those who follow their footsteps righteously till the Day of Judgement.

Now then,

Do observe Taqwa (fear of Allah) sincerely and hold fast to the non-severable bond of Islam: " O you who believe! Fear Allâh (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islâm [as Muslims (with complete submission to Allâh)." [?l-Imran: 102]. In fact, Allah will protect, suffice, gratify, and shelter anyone who observes Taqwa. read more

LIKED THINGS AND FEAR OF THE EVIL EYE

Allah, The Exalted has said with respect to the story of the two men: "Why do you not, when you enter into your garden say: Mã shã'a 'allãhu lã quwwata 'illã bil-lãhi". [KAHAF]

The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: "The `Ein (the [evil] eye) is true, and if there was anything that was going to beat Fate, the evil eye would have beaten it."

Justice and Equality a Rarity in Parenting Today – Part 1 of 2

The Prophet of Islam, Muhammad Sallallahu’Alayhi Wa Sallam has said, “Keep justice for all your children in your mind even when some of them are away. If you desire treatment of love, kindness and justice from your children, then give them similar treatment.”

A family unit is like a small society; the parents manage its affairs. As running a country is not possible without justice and equality, so is the management of a household not possible without justice and equality for all. Selflessness, love, affection and unity are possible only in an environment of justice and equality. Children will learn to be just and fair from the example set to them by their parents. If the parents are ignorant of the need for justice and fair play, so will be their children.
Just and equitable parents treat all their children equally and refrain from showing particular preference to any particular child. Be it a son or a daughter, pretty or not so pretty; the parents show the same feelings of love and affection for all of them.

The Prophet Sallallahu’Alayhi Wa Sallam noticed that a person was more attached to one son than to the other. He told him, “Why don’t you keep in mind the need for justice and equality?"

It is crucial that parents thoughtfully adopt such fair and just standards of treatment for their children that they don’t give rise to the feelings of partiality, hatred, jealousy and resentment.

Ml Yusuf elucidates this concept further and cites the example of Prophet Yusuf (AS) and his brothers.

WEBLINKS
THE SMILE

A local car company hired a new CEO to make the company more efficient.

On The Ceo's first day he noticed all the other factory workers were busy except for a young man leaning up against a piece of machinery, looking bored and biting his nails..

The CEO decided he was going to show off his authority and yelled at the boy and said "YOU, How much do you make per week?"

The young man startled replied "Oh about $400."

The Ceo reached for his wallet and pulled out $1600. Then with a smug grin on his face, he handed the young man the money and said "Here's a month’s wages, now get out and don't come back here again." The boy ran off.

The CEO looked at another employee standing there and asked what the boy did at the factory. The man replied
"Nothing, He was the Pizza delivery guy.
