...continued Surah Al-Jumu'ah (The Friday) 62 This Surah was revealed in Madinah, and it has 11 verses and 2 sections In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Most Merciful Say, "Indeed, the death from which you (try to) run away has to visit you ... 62:8 COMMENTARY: Traditions forbid anyone to wish for death. The most important reason behind this is that no one has the right to believe that as soon as he dies, he will certainly enter Paradise and will have no fear of any punishment. Wishing for death in such a state of mind is tantamount to show bravery before Allah. (Say, "Indeed, the death from which you (try to) run away has to visit you... 62:8) In other words, running away from longing for death despite their aforesaid claim is tantamount to running away from death itself. The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam is instructed in the verse to tell them that the death from which they are fleeing would inevitably catch up with them. If that would not happen instantly, it would certainly happen sometime later. Thus it is impossible for anyone to avoid or avert death in any way. ~ Ma’aariful Qur’an ~ |

Butternut soup
One whole butternut, chopped and deseeded (no need for peeling)
Salt, to taste Wash butternut well, boil in salted water until soft, add ½ cup
of Jungle Oats and keep boiling on low. In a separate pan, fry onions
until soft, add curry leaves, aromat, chilli, pepper, jeera and
garlic. Add this to the butternut pot, use your immersion blender
and blend soup until smooth and creamy. Taste for salt, adjust if
necessary. Add 250ml of fresh cream. Serve hot. When serving, pour
into soup bowl, swirl a little fresh cream on the top and dust with
chopped parsley. The perfect soup to keep you warm on these winter
nights. |
