KINDNESS TO THE YOUNG

Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I set out along with Jarir bin `Abdullah Al-Bajali (May Allah be pleased with him) on a journey and he served me. I said to him: "Don't do that.'' Thereupon, he said, "I have seen the Ansar doing this with the Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him), and I swore by Allah, whenever I accompany anyone of the Ansar, I would serve him". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary:
1. This Hadith gives a fair idea of the love that the Companions of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) had for him. It was so profound that they regarded it a great honour to serve the servants of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), even if they were younger in age.

Base
375 ml Snowflake self raising flour - 2 ml salt - 125 ml buttermilk - About 60 ml olive oil

TOPPING
30 ml cooking oil - 2 chicken breasts, cut strips - 1 large onion, cut rings - 2 cloves garlic, crushed - 15 ml chopped ginger - 1 green pepper, cut into strips - 45 ml peri-peri sauce - 125 ml grated mozzarella cheese - 15 ml chooped fresh herbs or 5 ml dried salt and freshly black pepper to taste.

1. Base: Sift flour and salt. Whisk buttermilk and oil and add to dry ingredients to make soft dough. Press dough into a greased 28 cm pizza pan.

2. Topping: Heat oil in a heavy based sauce pan. Add chicken strips and fry starting to brown. Ad onion garlic, ginger pepper and sauté` until soft. Add peri peri sauce and heat through. Layer all ingredients on pizza base.

3. Top with cheese, herbs and seasoning. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degree cel for about 25 minutes.

Serve immediately.

A not-too-bright candidate for the police force failed in the written examination. Since he was the Chief's nephew, the examiner decided to go easy on him with the oral test.

"Who shot Abraham Lincoln?", asked the examiner. The candidate pondered for a moment and then asked if he could have sometime to come up with the answer. The examiner told him to come back the next morning.

When the would-be recruit went home, his wife asked, "Well, how did it go? Did you get the job?".

"I think so," he replied. "They have already got me working on a case".
