VIRTUE OF THE FAST OF AASHURA The Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) has said: "The best fasts after the fasts of Ramadhan are those of the month of Muharram." Nabi (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) was asked with regard to the blessings of this fast, he replied:" It is a compensation for the sins of the past year." i.e. Allah will forgive the sins of the past year." (Muslim, Vol 1). Abu Qataada (radhiyallahu anhu) has related that the Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) has reported to have said, It is my thought that by fasting on the 10th of Muharram Allah Ta'ala will pardon the sins of the past year." (Tirmizi). Note: For the forgiveness of major sins Taubah and Istighfaar is a pre-requisite. GENEROSITY TO ONE'S FAMILY: Some traditions signify another feature of the day of ''Ashurah. According to these traditions one should be more generous to his family by providing more food to them on this day as compared to other days. It is mentioned in a Hadeeth: "He who will be generous to his family on the day of Aashura, Allah will be generous to him for the entire year." read more |

/ MUTTON KEBAABS 500g beef / mutton cubes or ready made mince 1 onion 1 small tomato 3 slices bread soaked in water 10 green chilies ½ bunch methi bhaji chopped ½ bunch green dhana chopped 1 tsp black pepper 1 Tbsp ginger/ garlic 1 ½ tsp salt 1 tsp jeeru 2 tsp dhana powder 1 Tbsp chana flour 10 sticks spring onion chopped ½ bunch mint leaves chopped 1 tsp baking powder Mince together beef/ mutton, onion, tomato, bread and chilies. Mix in the rest of the ingredients. Make small packets of mixture and freeze until needed or shape into small balls and deep fry in medium heat until medium brown |

A man drives to a filling station and has his tank filled up. The gas pumper spots two penguins sitting in the back seat of the car. He asks the driver, "What's up with the penguins in the back seat?" The man in the car says "I found them. I asked myself what to do with them, but I haven't had a clue." The clerk ponders a bit then says, "You should take them to the zoo." "Hey, that's a good idea," says the man in the car and drives away. The next day the man with the car is back at the same filling station. The clerk sees the penguins are still in the back seat of the car. "Hey, they're still here! I thought you were going to take them to the zoo." "Oh, I did," says the driver, "And we had a swell time. Today I am taking them to the beach."
