KHABBAB IBN AL-ARATT RA

A woman named Umm Anmaar who belonged to the Khuza'a tribe in Makkah went to the slave market in the city. She wanted to buy herself a youth for her domestic chores and to exploit his labour for economic gains. As she scrutinized the faces of those who were displayed for sale, her eyes fell on a boy who was obviously not yet in his teens. She saw that he was strong and healthy and that there were clear signs of intelligence on his face. She needed no further incentive to purchase him. She paid and walked away with her new acquisition.

THE FIGHT

Bringing you down, day by day

Who am I? Depression is my name.

But no need to fear
Cos God is near.
He is closer to you, than your jugular vein
Just reach out to Him, you’ll feel no pain.

Depression is something you wish you never had
Cos day in and day out it makes you sad
But prayer is like a shining light
It touches your heart and makes things right

It’s all up to you, to be strong and brave
Or else this will take you right to your grave
There’s so many things to life, you can’t even fathom
But it’s all up to you, to go out and get them.

Sometimes things may not go right
Defeating depression is a big fight
But hang in there, and tell yourself each day
That I will WIN this fight, and I’ll be “OKAY”!

The parents were very disappointed in the grades that their son brought home.

"The only consolation I can find in these awful grades," lamented the father, "is that I know he never cheated during his exams."
