THE ONE-EYED DOE
A Deer had the misfortune of losing one of its eyes, and could not see any one approaching her on that side. So to avoid any danger she always used to feed on a high cliff near the sea, with her sound eye looking towards the land. By this means she could see whenever the hunters approached her on land, and often escaped by this means. But the hunters found out that she was blind of one eye, and hiring a boat rowed under the cliff where she used to feed and shot her from the sea. ‘Ah,’ cried she with her dying voice, ‘You cannot escape your fate.’ |

Abu
Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger
of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'The
best of fasting after Ramadhan is fasting in Allah's month of
Muharram." Reported by Muslim
The phrase "Allah's month", connecting
the name of the month to the name of Allah in a genitive grammatical
structure, signifies the importance of the month. Al-Qari said:
"The apparent meaning is all of the month of Muharram."
But it was proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah
be upon him) never fasted any whole month apart from Ramadhan,
so this Hadith is meant to encourage increasing one's fasting
during Muharram. |

SOJEE RECIPE
Half cup ghee Mix boiling water, saffron, elachi and 3 tbls sugar and set aside. Boil milk n carrots till half reduced. In another pot braise sojee n ghee, once done add water n cook thereafter add milk mixture and mix well. Add 1 small tin nestle cream n 1 tin caramel treat.
