Surah Al-Waqiah 56: - (The Imminent Event)

With the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most-Merciful

"So, I swear by the setting places of the stars..." 56:75

COMMENTARY: The preceding verses put forward rational arguments, in support of life after death, by inviting attention to Allah's infinite power. The current verses are meant to prove this fact by giving an authoritative reference, that is, the Quran.

Allah swears to the Greatness of the Quran... ("So, I swear by the setting places of the stars..." 56:75).

The word 'Mawaaqi' is the plural of 'Mawq' and refers to the points where or times when the stars set. Here, like in Surah An-Najm "By the star when it goes down to set, [l]", the oath of stars is qualified by their setting-time. The wisdom underlying this is that when the stars set, their function seems to have been cut off from the horizon, and we witness effects of their vanishing. This is the proof of their perishability and dependence on Divine power.

WAFFLES

Ingredients
2 cups flour - 3 tsps Baking powder - ½ tsps salt - 1 ½ tblsp sugar - 2 eggs separated - 2-2 ¼ cups milk - 4 tblsp ghee - Vanilla essence to taste. Method 1
Sift together all dry ingredients. Add slightly beaten egg yolks and milk beat thoroughly. Add ghee and enough vanilla essence to taste. Lastly fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake on a hot waffle iron until golden brown.

Method:
1. Mix all ingredients together in an electric mixer for 3 to 4 minutes.
2. Bake on a waffle iron till golden brown.
Serve waffles with whipped cream and fruit of your choice. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and syrup.
