THE EFFECT OF THE HOLY QUR’AN ON HEARTS

His Eminence Sheikh Saleh ibn Muhammad Al Talib –May Allah protect him– delivered this Friday Khutbah titled “The Effect of the Holy Qur’an on Hearts” in which he talked about the effect that the Holy Qur’an has on hearts, pointing out its impact on the polytheists when they heard it and how the Prophet ‒May Allah’s Salat and Peace be upon him‒ felt upon reciting it and hearing it recited. He also showed its effect on the Prophet’s Companions and others, such as the Jinn and the angels, and concluded with mentioning some Hadiths about the merit of reciting the Holy Qur’an and that of those who have learned it. read more

WHEN A CHILD IS BORN

Sayyidatuna Aa’ishah (Radiyallahu Anha) that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) used to make Dua for Barakah for the children who were brought to him and do their Tahneek. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith #: 5743)

Tahneek means that he would make Tahneek for them which is the rubbing of the lower jaw with a softened date.

CHICKEN LAGAN

Ingredients
2 cups chicken fillet cubed - 1 tsp Ghee - ½ tsp salt - 1 tblsp green chillies - ½ tsp black pepper. Braise the chicken with the above ingredients until cooked. Soak 4 slices of bread in 1 cup of milk for 15 minutes.

1 Tin cream style sweetcorn. 2 eggs - 2oz butter - ¼ cup peas - 1 tblsp sojee - 1 tsp Baking powder - chopped Dhana.

Method
Whisks eggs and add to bread mixture. Add rest of ingredients to milk mixture including the cooked chicken and mix well. Pour into pyrex dish and bake in oven at 180c for approximately 1 hour.
