Surah Ar-Rahman (The All-Merciful) This Surah is Madani, and it has 78 verses and 3 sections In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most-Merciful "And the vine and the tree both prostrate [to Allah]..." 55:6 COMMENTARY: The word 'Najm' refers to the 'plants having no stem' and the word 'Shajar' refers to any 'tree' with stems or trunk, twigs and branches. All of them prostrate to Allah. Sajdah or prostration is the supreme symbol of humility, respect, surrender and unconditional love and obedience of Allah. In this context, the verse means that Allah has assigned a specific task to every tree, plant, creeper, and their leaves and fruits for the benefit of humankind and they are performing their tasks without the slightest deviation from their assigned duties. The plants without stems and the trees humbly submit themselves to Allah's will. The preceding verse [5], shows that everything, from the largest celestial body to the smallest plant, is subject to His laws manifest in nature. A little disturbance in or deviation from their set course would bring down in pieces the whole universe, which has been created for the service of man. It is inconceivable, therefore, that man for whose service this vast and complicated but perfectly regulated universe has been brought into being would have been created without a purpose. The life of man surely has a grand Divine aim to which repeated reference has been made in this entire Surah and in other parts of the Qur'an. There are two types of obedience: 1. Obedience that is carried out by free will, as for instance, man and jinn are given free will to choose between obeying Allah's laws or disobeying them; and ~ MA'AARIFUL QUR'AAN ~ |

LEG ROAST Ingredients Full leg Marinade : 1 tablespoon garlic 1 teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon red masala 2 tablespoon Robertson BBQ spice 1 tablespoon steak and chops spice 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon garlic and herb 1 teaspoon crushed red chillies 1 ½ teaspoon dhana powder / crushes dhana ½ teaspoon whole jeera seeds Salt to taste 1 tablespoon vinegar 1 tablespoon Worcester sauce Sauce : 2 tablespoon steers peri 2 tablespoon tomato sauce 1 teaspoon mustard sauce 2 tubal steers garlic sauce 1 tablespoon steers BBQ sauce 1 teaspoon lemon juice Method Marinade leg over night for flavor to sink in with all the spices . Add the leg into a pressure cooker with some water and give it 4 to 5 whistles ( if you don't have a pressure cooker , cook in a large pot until soft and tender ) add water if necessary . Do this 30 minutes before serving . In a huge Pyrex dish add the cooked leg pouring all the sauce over the leg , add some blobs of butter and let in cook in a preheated oven until the sauce starts to simmer . |
