SUNNAH, PRACTISES OF MUHAMMAD SAW
The Virtue of carrying a Janazah for forty steps: It is reported in the Hadith that forty sins will be forgiven of the person who carries a Janazah for forty steps. [Fatawa Mahmudiyyah, vol. 2, page 420]

How to walk with the Janazah?
Question: Should a person walk in front or behind the Janazah? The custom amongst us is to form a long queue in front of the Janazah in order to carry it. Is this correct?
Answer: Barâ bin Âzib Radiallâhu anhu reports that Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallâhu alaihi Wasallam, ordered us to follow (walk behind) the Janazah. [Sahih Bukhari]

From this Hadith it is established that it is Mustahab and more virtuous to keep the Janazah in front and walk behind. In this manner a lesson is learnt and the Mayyit (deceased) is honoured. However it is permissible for some people to remain in front and near the Janazah for the sake of carrying it. Such people should not remain far from the Janazah. It is Makrooh (undesirable) for all to queue up in front and leave the Janazah behind.

The majority of the people should remain behind the Janazah. Those who have carried the Janazah should move towards the back so that others may easily get the opportunity of carrying it. [Fatawa Rahimiyyah, vol. 5, page 104]

THE MESSAGE
Have you made up your will as yet?
------------------------------
--------
The issue of inheritance is of fundamental importance. If it is applied correctly all heirs receive their just and legitimate shares resulting in clean-heartedness, happiness and Barakah (blessings). If it is not applied at all or not correctly, bitterness, hatred, in-fighting and loss of Barakah prevail for ever.

This branch of Islamic Law is so important that it has been given its own status. Rasulullah salllahu alaihi wasallam says: "Learn the laws of inheritance and teach it to people, for it is half of knowledge".

The laws of inheritance have probably been referred to as half of knowledge because it has to do with the correct distribution of the wealth of a deceased person and money associated with all forms of worship, directly or indirectly, in fact with our very existence, if this is Halaal, our food, clothing, shelter, transport, etc will be Halaal and our Ibaadah (worship) will be in a position to be accepted. If this is not Halaal, all our Ibaadah, etc. is rejected by Allah. Therefore, together with it being half of knowledge and being studied as a subject of its own and having its own independent status, it is linked to all Ibaadah as well.

If one is righteous and keeps his financial matters clean, the Barakah of his wealth is enjoyed by generations after him. The Quran relates the event of Khidhar alaihis salaam putting a wall right on the objection of Moosa alaihis salaam that the people of that town did not host them. Khidhar alaihis salaam should not have served them especially without remuneration. Khidhar alaihis salaam explained that the inheritance of some orphans was buried there and had to be protected because their parents were righteous.

The Virtues of Making a Will
"He who dies on his Wasiyat (having made a will) dies on a (clear) path (i.e. a clear path, leaving no disputes or unresolved issues for his family and making the distribution of the estate easy), he dies on Sunnah, on the fear of Allah, martyrdom and he dies forgiven.

Subhanallah! What great virtues for making and keeping one's will ready. Five great boons are promised:

1. He dies on a clear path, how nice to depart, leaving no disputes behind.
2. On Sunnah - could there be something greater to ask for.
3. He dies on Taqwa - On Taqwa Allah promises a way out from every difficulty. What greater difficulty can there be than death. By having one's will ready, one is promised freedom from this difficulty.
4. And on Shahaadah - Rasulullah (Salllahu alaihi Wasallam) constantly desired to return to the Dunya to become a Shaheed (martyr) again and again. Sayyadina Umar (RA) made Dua for Shahaadah. By having made a will, a person acquires this great stage. Or "on Shahaadah" means dying having given evidence of all his financial matters.
5. And he dies forgiven - To die free of sin ensures direct entry into Jannah.

The Purpose of Making a Will
In Islam a will is not made to give whom one wants how much, or not to give one or to give less to whom one wants to. It is narrated in a Hadith: "Allah has given every rightful person his right, so there is no Wasiyat for him."

All those who are going to inherit, and how much, is defined by Allah. This is an intricate subject on its own known as "Illmul Faraaidh" and experts in this field will inform one of the details as and when required. read more

DUA (PRAYER)
SUBHAANAKALLHUMMA WA BIHAMDIKA ASTAGHFIRUKA WA ATOOBU ILAYK. O Allah! You are Pure; all praise is only for you. I seek forgiveness from you and I repent.

BENEFIT: If this Dua is recited after making Wudhu, a special paper of forgiveness is written for one. This paper is sealed and kept away, which will only be opened on the day of Qiyaamah.

AND… FOR THE KIDDIES
THE BOY WHO DIDN’T LISTEN

There was once a boy who did not like wearing shoes. He liked running around barefoot and did not understand why his mother made such a fuss about wearing shoes.

One day he told his mother that he was going to play in the garden. His mother reminded him about his shoes but he did not listen.

He was playing happily in the garden when he suddenly pricked his foot on a thorn. He began to cry loudly. His mother came out to see what happened. He pointed to his foot and cried, “I got poked by a thorn.” “Why didn’t you listen to me and wear your shoes?” asked his mother, carrying him into the house.

She placed him on the table and checked his foot. She saw the thorn and carefully pulled it out. She then applied some medicine to his foot and he went back to play. This time he made sure he wore his shoes before going outside to play. Can you guess the boy’s name?

She further explained that when she had the first one, Mikey, he didn't kick too much. Mikey gently said to his mother; “Mom, do you know why I didn't kick you too much? Because I knew you were my Mommy. Out of the mouths of our sweet babies.
