A girl has been killed following an explosion in the Pakistani province of Baluchistan. Six others remain wounded. The bomb was attached to a motor cycle before going off outside a bank.

G8 leaders meeting next week Monday in Japan are likely to discuss implementing tougher sanctions on Zimbabwe. Britain wants G8 leaders to emphasise that they do not recognize the leadership of President Robert Mugabe.

Gold Fields is reported to have the highest number of deaths in the country this year. The chief inspector of mines, Thabo Gazi, says about half of the 85 mine deaths reported so far this year, occurred at Gold Fields mines.

HALWA

An easy recipe for Halwa

Boil 1litre milk make a paste of 4level tsp custard and 2 level tsps ghas add to milk.
Allow to cook for a while on low to medium heat. When nearly done make a paste of 4tablespoons Klim powder and add to milk keep stirring as it will start sticking to the container. Remove from heat and add 1tin nestle cream and condensed milk to sweeten allow setting sprinkle khus khus and nuts saffron. Refrigerate.

Outward colours arise from the light of sun and stars, and inward colours from the Light on high. The light that lights the eye is also the heart's Light. The eye's light proceeds from the Light of the heart. But the light that lights the heart is the Light of God, which is distinct from the light of reason and sense. At night there is no light, and colours are not seen. Hence we know what light is by its opposite, darkness. At night no colours are visible, for light is lacking. How can colour be the attribute of dark blackness? Looking on light is the same as looking on colours. Opposite shows up opposite.

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.

Well, for example, the other day I went downtown and into a shop. I was only there for about 5 minutes, and when I came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.

I said to him, "Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break"? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a "Nazi."

He glared at me and wrote another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a "doughnut eating Gestapo."

He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he wrote a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes.

The more I abused him the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn't care. I came downtown on the bus...
