EARNED vs FOUND

Money earned is of far more value than five found. My friend was sharing with me, the story of his eight year-old niece. She would always complain about the breakfast. The cook tried everything possible, but the child remained unhappy. Finally, my friend took the child to a supermarket and brought one of those ready-to-cook cereal packets. The child had to cut the packet and pour water in the dish. The child found the food to be absolutely delicious? The difference was that she had to do it herself!

In my own life, I have found that nothing gives as much satisfaction as earning our own rewards. In fact, what is gifted or inherited follows the old rule of 'come easy, go easy'. I guess we only know the value of what we have, if we have struggled to earn it.

Commentary: Cucumber has a cold effect and dates have a hot one. By combining the two it becomes mild. From this Hadith we gather that it is recommended that the effect (hot or cold) of things eaten should be taken into consideration. Cucumber is insipid and tasteless, and dates are sweet which results in the cucumber also tasting sweet.

Kagiso Asset Management: Unconventional thinking. Superior performance

Ingredients:
2 cups macaroni
3 medium mashed potatoes
1 green pepper
1kg mince
3 – 4 tomatoes
green chillies to taste
red chilles
garlic
1 tablespoon ginger / garlic
lemon juice
¼ tsp arad (haldi)
2 tsp dhanna / jeero
salt & pepper to taste
cheese – grated

Method:
Braise the mince with spices. Slice green peppers. Add tomato , cook and keep saucy. Boil macaroni. Boil potatoes – mash.

White Sauce:
1 tablespoon flour
2 cups milk
½ / 1 cup cheese
salt & pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter

In a sauce pan add all ingredients excluding the cheese. Starting with milk, then flour, salt & pepper, butter. Boil on high heat till thick. Keep stirring until milk boils then lastly add the cheese. Now oil a casserole dish, layer macaroni, mince, white sauce and lastly mash. Sprinkle with cheese and bake. Serve hot for better results.
