“Why does the Tabligh Jamaat go mostly to Muslims?”

Why does Tabligh Jamaat preach, teach, talk, and walk amongst mostly Muslims. Firstly, many times the Tabligh Jamaat because of their conspicuous nature have to work and give Da'wah to non- Muslims. This happens at bus stops, railway platforms, airport areas and on the road.

Secondly, when someone is doing well in accordance to the Shari'ah, then allow them to carry on. No one is stopping one from giving Da'wah to non-Muslims provided one knows the Shar'i requirements and perimeters for this important responsibility. Thirdly, in the Shari'ah we have many examples to prove that teaching, learning and advising Muslims was done.

1. Allaah instructs reminding because reminding is beneficial for the Muslims: Allaah says:

"Continue advising because advice is beneficial for the Mu'mineen." {Surah Dhaariyaat, verse 55}

"So advise because advice is beneficial." {Surah A'la, verse 9}

"The Mu'mineen men and the Mu'mineen women are supporters (helpers, protectors) of each other. They command (others and each other to do) good, prevent evil, establish Salaah, pay Zakaah and obey Allaah and His Rasool . These are the ones on whom Allaah shall soon shower mercy. Verily Allaah is Mighty, The Wise." {Surah Taubah, verse 71}

From here it is clear that the reminding, advising, admonishing is done by Muslims for Muslims.

2. The gathering of Muslims at Darul Arqam for learning, teaching, advising and practising was done by Muslims, for Muslims. Here the Ameer was none other than Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam.

3. The sending of Hadhrat Mus'ab bin Umayr Radiyallahu Anhu to Madinah to teach Muslims.

4. The sending of Hadhrat Mu’aadh bin Jabal Radiyallahu Anhu to Yemen, as a governor, guide and teacher for the Muslims.

5. Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas’ood Radiyallahu Anhu narrated Ahadeeth once or twice a week to those gathered in Masjid e Nabawi.

6. Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah Radiyallahu Anhu used to stand near the mimbar (pulpit) of Masjid e Nabawi once a week and narrate Ahadeeth.

7. Hadhrat Tameem Daari Radiyallahu Anhu used to narrate Ahadeeth before the Jumu'ah Khutba every Jumu'ah.6 (From this one we prove also that the lecture is given prior to Jumuah Khutba in many countries).

8. Hadhrat Umar Radiyallahu Anhu sent Hadhrat Abu Dardaa Radiyallahu Anhu to Shaam to teach
the Qur'aan and Sunnah to the people.

9. The Mufassireen, Muhadditheen and the Ustaads in all Darul Ulooms as well as the Mashaa'ikh in Khanqahs teach, study, educate, advise and admonish Muslims.

10. Rasulullaah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam once dispatched a group of six Sahabah Radiyallahu Anhum to teach the people of a tribe that had accepted Islaam. These Sahabah Radiyallahu Anhum were however waylaid at a place called Raj'ee.

11. There is a Hadith in which states, ”convey, perhaps the listener understands more than the speaker” This also refers to Muslims to Muslims. The Muhaaditheen (scholars and compilers of Ahadeeth themselves state that although they are compilers, the ‘fuqahaa’ (jurists) understand the meaning in greater depths.

12. There is an extremely important Hadith which states "convey from me, even if it be an Aayat”
This is so general that Muslim and non-Muslims can be inferred there from.

13. This single Hadith is sufficient to relate most, if not all objections regarding Dawat and Tabligh.

COMBING OF HAIR

Hazrat Aisha (Radiallahu anha) says, "I used to comb the hair of Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam), even when I was in the state of menstruation."

Commentary: The Ulama prove from this Hadith that it permissible for a woman in her periods to look after and serve her husband. Because of the menstruation the whole body of a woman does not become najis (naapak-unclean). However, it is forbidden to have intercourse with her during her menstruation.

Hazrat Anas (Radiallahu anhu) reports, "Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) often rubbed oil in his head and also often combed his beard. He put a cloth over his head, which became like an oil cloth due to the frequent use of oil."

Commentary: The clothing becomes oiled due to the use of oil, and this was against the noble habit of Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam), who liked cleanliness. He put a cloth over his head so that the amaamah (turban) etc. did not become stained.

METHOD

Hazrat Aisha (Radiallahu anha) says, "Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) liked to begin with the right while combing his hair; while performing ablution (wudhu) and when putting on his shoes. (Also in every other deed, he first began with the right then the left).

Commentary: This (beginning from the right) is not confined to the three acts mentioned in this Hadith. Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) began everything with the right, that is why every other deed' has been added in the translation of the Hadith. The basic rule is, that all those things that reflect dignity and elegance, while putting on these the right is preferred, and when removing them the left is begun with, as when putting on clothes, shoes etc. When one enters the Masjid, one enters with the right foot and leaves with the left foot first, as this is the place of dignity and greatness. Contrary to this, in those things that do not have elegance in them, for instance when entering the toilet.

HOW OFTEN?

Hazrat Abdullah Mughaffal (Radiallahu anhu) reports, "Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) prohibited the combing of hair, but allowed it to be does occasionally."

Hazrat Humayd bin Abdurrahman (Radiallahu anhu) relates form a Sahabi that Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) combed his hair occasionally.

Commentary: Qazi Iyaz says that occasionally means after every three days. In Abu Daud a Hadith has been reported, wherein Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihe wasallam) prohibited the combing of hair daily. The Ulama have written that it is prohibited at such times when there is no necessity for it, otherwise there is no harm in it. The prohibition is karahate tanzihi. It is specially for the hair that has no dirt in it and does not need grooming. When the hair is dirty, there is no karaaha (i.e. not makruh) in combing the hair daily.

THE SMILE

It's one of the strangest things I have ever encountered...

Left brain, right brain trick.

While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about it!!

Insha Allah! we will make good use of it. Send to yoyo@radioislamlive.com
