ESSAY FROM A CHILD

A teacher from Primary School asks her students to write a essay about
what they would like God to do for them...

At the end of the day while marking the essays, she read one that made
her very emotional. Her husband, that had just walked in saw her crying
and asked her:

"What happened?"

She answered: "Read this. It's one of my students essays."

Oh God, tonight I ask you something very special: Make me into a
television. I want to take its place. Live like the TV in my house. Have
my own special place, And have my family around ME. To be taken
seriously when I talk... I want to be the centre of attention and be
heard without interruptions or questions. I want to receive the same
special care that the TV receives when it is not working. Have the
company of my dad when he arrives home from work, even when he is tired.
And I want my mom to want me when she is sad and upset, instead of
ignoring me... And... I want my brothers to fight to be with me... I
want to feel that family just leaves everything aside, every now and
then, just to spend some time with me. And last but not least make it
that I can make them all happy and entertain them...

Lord I don't ask you for much... I just want to live like every TV

At that moment the husband said: "My God, poor kid. What horrible parents!"

She looked up at him and said: "That essay is our son's!!!"

Makes you think doesn't it?????

FIQH (PRACTICAL ASPECTS)

QADHAA SALAAH (MISSED SALAAH)

Q. Define Qadhaa Salaah?

A. If a person does not perform a Salaah in its fixed time it will then become Qadhaa upon him meaning that he will still have to perform it, even if it be years later. There is no guarantee that he will be forgiven however a person should perform it along with Tauba and have hope in the mercy of Allah.

Q. During which times can one perform Qadhaa Salaah?

A. It can be performed at any time. If a person is reading a Zuhr Salaah that he missed in the past, it is not necessary that he perform it in a Zuhr time but he can perform it at any time of the day. If one is performing it after Fajr or after Asr then it is advised not to perform it in public for he will be disclosing his own faults. However, Qadhaa salaah like every other Salaah, is not permissible during three times i.e. sunrise, sunset and Zawaal.

Q. Does a person read the entire Salaah when performing Qadhaa?

A. No, a person will only read the Fardh Rakaats. However, according to Hanafis, a person will also have to make Qadhaa for the three Rakaats of Witr Waajib that is usually performed after the Esha Salaah.

Q. Is it necessary to mention the date of when you missed that particular Salaah in your intention (Niyyah) when performing Qadhaa Salaah?

A. No, it is not necessary. A simple method is as follows: If Zaid missed his Asr Salaah for the month of August 2007 and he started reading again from the 1st of September 2007, then when making Qadhaa his intention should be... "O Allah I am performing four Rakaats Asr Qadhaa Salaah for the last Asr that I missed for your pleasure only facing the Qibla". In this way, automatically Qadhaa will be made for the 31st of August. The next time he makes the same intention, automatically Qadhaa will be made for the 30th August and it will go backwards in that order. This method will prove beneficial for those that don't know when exactly they missed their Salaah.

2 onions, thinly sliced
600g mutton or lamb, cubed

THE SMILE

Two men met at a bus stop and struck up a conversation. One of them kept complaining of family problems. Finally, the other man said, You think you have family problems? Listen to my situation. A few years ago I met a young widow with a grown-up daughter, and we got married. Later my father married my stepdaughter. That made my stepdaughter my stepmother and my father became my stepson. Also, my wife became mother -in-law of her father-in-law. Then the daughter of my wife, my stepmother, had a son. This boy was my half-brother because he was my father's son, but he was also the son of my wife's daughter, which made him my wife's grandson That made me the grandfather of my half-brother. This was nothing until my wife and I had a son. Now the half-sister of my son, my stepmother, is also the grandmother. This makes my father the brother-in-law of my child, whose stepsister is my father's wife. I'm my stepmother's brother-in-law, my wife is her own child's aunt, my son is my father's nephew and I'm my own grandfather! And you think you have family problems!
