What are your priorities?

Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Whoever's greatest concern is this world then Allah will scatter his affairs."

You will never be satisfied, the grass will always seem greener somewhere else..that is life and a predicament of the human race.

Why would Bill Gates keep making money when he already is one of the richest men in the world? Why would someone with enough money to last a few life times still desire more and more. No matter how much greater of this world you have you will always feel poor because it does not give you happiness or consoles you completely; look at wall street, some of the biggest richest guys in the worlds, look at their condition, Are they happy?

In 2009, a 74 year-old German industrialist, the 47th richest man in the world, lost 9 billion dollars in one week. He went home and killed himself. All of the years of experience didn't teach him to
handle this crisis. His fortune of 15 billion dollars was reduced to 5 billion dollars. In order to spend this much money, you would have to spend 20,000 dollars a day for 80 years. This man even after this great loss, was still so rich but felt so poor. The focus is on this world, when it can be with you today but gone tomorrow.

"but who makes the next world his goal, Allah will bring his affairs together."

True wealth is not in an accumulation in this life, truth wealth is the wealth of the soul. Only in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. There are only two options, you either prioritize and care for this life more than the next or you care for the world to come. When you forget Allah, what do you remember? We need to judge ourselves before we will be judged.

So ask yourself...

what are my priorities? For a few seconds, I want you to not think about anyone else but yourself and think about what you believe to be your priorities? And do not lie to yourself; give proofs to what you claim to be your priority. Don't say getting to jannah is your priority and you don't pray your five prayers. Be honest.

How often do we pray? Recite Quran? How fast do we pray? How many people truly consider the small thing in Islam to be important? How many of us s trive for the bare minimum? Most Muslims will claim that Islam, praying, and striving to jannah is their priority.

But our words do not match our actions. Our actions prove where our priorities are; Generally we work for this life more than the hereafter. The money, the jewel, everything is in front of us, easy temptation and easy satisfaction. Everything here is temporary when we die, do you take you home? Your car? Your watch? We don't even take our children? But we love these things more
than the hereafter..Why? why do we treasure things that last only as long as we live than a place that will last forever?

We are blind, not blind like the disbelievers because we know who Allah is, we know that we have to die, we know what heaven is and we sure do know what hell is but our priorities still remain in the Dunya. We are blinded by the temporary because we cannot see the eternal gifts of Jannah. Someone once said,

"This world is like a shadow. If you try to catch it, you will never be able to do so. If you turn your back towards it, it has no choice but to follow it"

There are people who know everything about science, history, math but when you ask them to recite Al-Fatiha or ask them any Islamic question, they know nothing,

what are their priorities?Allah does not force people to pray, read Quran, or to be good. It is haram to compel people to do anything is Islam. You are that which you work for. And you work for that which you love. If you love the hereafter, you will prioritize it. If we love this religion will prioritize it.

Allah has not made this hard. You can be a doctor and be Muslim. You can be lawyer and be Muslim. You can be smart, funny, a business man, anything you want to be and BE MUSLIMS. In Islam, having an education is important, making money is halal, culture is respected but these "Dunya things" cannot be prioritized over your deen, which will lead you to an eternal prize, a
prize that will last...

...FORVEVER.

"Verily, the next life is better for you than this life" (Qur'an, 93:4)

PONDER OVER THIS...

In 1923, eight of the wealthiest people in the world met. Their combined wealth, it is estimated, exceeded the wealth of the government of the United States at that time. These men certainly knew how to make a living and accumulate wealth. But let's examine what happened to them 25 years later.

1. President of the largest steel company, Charles Schwab, lived on borrowed capital for five years before he died bankrupt.
2. President of the largest gas company, Howard Hubson, went insane.
3. One of the greatest commodity traders, Arthur Cutton, died insolvent.
4. President of the New York Stock Exchange, Richard Whitney, was sent to jail.
5. A member of the President's Cabinet, Albert Fall, was pardoned from jail to go home and die in peace.
6. The greatest "bear" on Wall Street, Jessie Livermore, committed suicide.
7. President of the world's greatest monopoly, Ivar Krueger, committed suicide.
8. President of the Bank of International Settlement, Leon Fraser, committed suicide.

What they forgot was how to make a life! Money in itself is not evil!

Money provides food for the hungry, medicine for the sick, clothes for the needy. Money is only a medium of exchange. We need two kinds of education. One that teaches us how to make a living and one that teaches us how to live. There are people who are so engrossed in their professional life that they neglect their family, health and social responsibilities. If asked why they do this they would reply that they were doing it for their family.

Our kids are sleeping when we leave home. They are sleeping when we come home.
Twenty years later, we'll turn back, and they'll all be gone. Without water, a ship cannot move. The ship needs water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will face problems. What was once a means of living for the ship will now become a means of destruction. Similarly we live in a time where earning is a necessity but let not the earning enter our hearts, for what was once a means of living will be become a means of destruction.

So take a moment and ask yourself....has water entered my ship?

RECIPE
Steak & Potato Pie

Ingredients:
500gr rump steak, finely cubed

1 tsp ghee
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp fresh red chillies

1 tsp salt

1 tsp chilli powder

1 tsp steak & chops spice

1/2 tsp lemon pepper

3 tbsp vinegar

1 tbsp mustard sauce

1 tbsp chilli sauce

1 tbsp mayonnaise

2 tomatoes, liquidized

2 med potatoes cut into small cubes

Puff pastry
2 egg yolks

Tip: Alternatively one can add cheese and red chutney for a cheesy flavour.

Method:
Cook on high heat for 5 minutes, reduce heat and cook on low until tender. Boil potatoes until cooked. Combine steak and potatoes. Grease a rectangular oven proof dish. Roll out pastry to fit the base and sides of dish. Spoon cooked steak and potato mixture over pastry. Roll out more pastry and cut a rectangle to fit the top of the pie. Place pastry over filling and press sides down with your thumb. Brush with egg yolks. Take a sharp knife and cut squares deep into the pastry.
Sprinkle sesame seeds and bake in a pre heated oven of 180 degree until golden brown.

DID YOU KNOW...(Money)

* Money isn't made out of paper, it's made out of cotton.

* Parker Brothers printed more money for its Monopoly games than the Federal Reserve has issued in real money for the United States. If you stacked up all the Monopoly sets made, the pile would be more than 1,100 miles high.

* The ink used to print the Dollar bills are magnetic and so vending machines use that as one of the means of detecting whether a bill is legitimate.

* Do you know why there are ridges on the edges of coins? Back in the day, when coins were made of gold and silver, people would shave off or clip the edges of the coins and then save the shavings for later. While illegal, it was difficult to catch because coins were always irregularly shaped because of poor manufacturing thus the ridges helped in detecting that.

THE SMILE

When Bob found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. So one evening he went to a coffee shop where he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Her natural beauty took his breath away. "I may look like just an ordinary man," he said as he walked up to her, "but in just a week or two my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars. Your beauty has blown me away, would you marry me?"

Impressed, the woman took down his details to set up a proposal.

Three days later...

she became his stepmother.
