RECEIVING RAMADAAN - Rescuers from Trials

Fellow Muslims! Ramadaan – the month of blessing – is now here. Let us use the opportunity of this month to do more good deeds and increase in acts of worship in order that Allaah’s protection for us may be greater.
After a few days, Muslims will be rejoicing over the advent of this great month during which the doors of Hell are closed and the gates of Paradise are opened. Muslims are in need of this great month for purification of their souls and strengthening their resolve.
Ramadaan is a month that should be received with clean souls, pure wealth and free hearts. The greatest acts to be done in this month are therefore reforming of the hearts for the heart that still indulges in sin will lose great bliss.
Let the month of Ramadaan be an opportunity for freeing hearts from rancour and hatred. Let the holy month be used for settling disputes between one and his Muslim brothers; let it be an opportunity for being kind to parents and the kith and kin; an opportunity to play a positive role in the society.
Among the wisdom of Ramadaan is that the Muslim should use the opportunity of the month to share the feelings of his brothers all over the world and let him increase in his endeavour to invoke Allaah, the Almighty, Who says, "And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by my knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me. So let them obey Me and believe in Me so that they may be led aright." (Al-Baqarah: 186) read more

PREOCCUPATION AND SADNESS
It is reported of the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam that he said: "No preoccupying concern, or sadness inflicts a servant whereupon he says:
"Allãhumma 'innee `abduka, wabnu `abdika, wabnu 'amatika, nasiyatee biyadika, mãdhin fiyya hukmuka, `adlun fiyya qadhã'uka, 'as'aluka bikulli 'ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, 'aw 'anzaltahu fee kitãbika, 'aw `allamtahu 'ahadan min khalqika, 'aw 'ista'tharta bihi fee `ilmil ghaybi `indaka, 'an taj`alal qur'ãna rabee`a qalbee, wa noora sadree, wa jalã'a huznee, wa thahãba hammee.."
"O my 'ilãh I am your bondservant, son of your bondsman, and son of your bondswoman. My forelock is in Your Hands; Your judgement is continuously being carried out upon me; Your sentence upon me is just. I ask You with every name that is Yours, with which You have named Yourself, brought down in Your book, taught to one of Your creation, or have preferred for Yourself in the hidden knowledge, with You: that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, and the dispelling of my sadness, and deportation of my [preoccupying] concern."
Except that Allah would dispel his concern and his sadness, and would replace it with ease and relaxation for him."

POTATO CAKE
Ingredients:
3 cups mashed potatoes - 1 ½ cups sugar - 1 cup flour
- 3 eggs - 3 tsp baking powder - 1 cup ghee – Elachie – Coconut.
Method:
Beat ghee and sugar. Add rest of ingredients. Put mixture into
pyrex dish. Bake at 180c for 1 hour or until golden brown.
Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is your emergency?
Caller: Someone broke into my house and took a bite out of my chicken and cheese sandwich.
Dispatcher: Excuse me?
Caller: I made a chicken and cheese sandwich and left it on the kitchen table and when I came back from the bathroom, someone had taken a bite out of it.
Dispatcher: Was anything else taken?
Caller: No, but this has happened to me before and I’m sick and tired of it.
