THE STORY
WINDOWS THROUGH WE WHICH WE LOOK

A young couple moved into a new neighbourhood. The next morning while they were eating breakfast, the young woman saw her neighbour hanging the washing outside.

"That laundry is not very clean", she said.
"She doesn't know how to wash correctly.
Perhaps she needs better laundry soap."

Her husband looked on, but remained silent.

Every time her neighbour hung her washing to dry, the young woman made the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband:

"Look, she has learned now how to wash correctly.
I wonder who taught her this."

The husband said, "I got up early this morning and Cleaned our windows."

And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look!

SUNNAH, (PRACTISES OF MUHAMMAD Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam)

Anas Radiyallahu 'Anhu says: "A person who was wearing yellow coloured clothing was sitting by Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam. It was the habit of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam not to bluntly express things he did not approve of. (Therefore he kept silent). When that person left, Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam said to those present 'It would have been better if you had told him not to wear yellow clothing"'. [TIRMIZI]

Commentary: This was a great kindness of Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam on the Ummah. He did not usually prohibit anything to an individual, because it was possible that that person may reject it or may become a cause for one to raise an objection, which could lead to Kufr. When Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu'Alayhi Wasallam felt that it would not lead to this, he prohibited that which was undesirable. It is stated that Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam prohibited Sayyidina 'Abdullah bin 'Amr ibnul 'Aas Radiyallahu 'Anhu from wearing such clothing. Many other such instances are mentioned in the books of Hadith. Also this delaying and not openly prohibiting a thing were only in such circumstances where it was feared to be detrimental or where there was no fear of harm if it was delayed. This method was not adopted where a Haraam thing was committed. It is therefore found in a Hadith on the speech of Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam, where in a detailed narration of Sayyidina Imaam Hasan Radiyallahu 'Anhu it is related that when one transgressed the truth, at that time no one could endure his anger, nor could anybody stop him, till Sayyidina Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam avenged that deed.

OUR LATEST PODCAST
Guantanamo Bay Eleventh Anniversary - Taji Mustafa

January the 11th marks the eleventh anniversary since the first inmates were air-lifted to Guantanamo Bay, a symbol of USA’s `Justice’ system. Ml Yusuf Omar interviewed UK Spokesman for Hizb ut-Tahrir, Taji Mustafa. Brother Taji mentioned that the USA portrays itself to the world as being the global beacon of Human Rights and the bastion for democracy and freedom. However, it’s evident that the US’s values have shown that kidnapping is acceptable, torture is acceptable and indefinite incarceration of Muslims without trial is acceptable.

Anthropologist, Dr. Mark Mason said,"The United States has an operation that can only be described as a medieval torture chamber. It’s in violation of Geneva Convention, and in violation of the US constitution. It violates legal principles such as trial by jury that goes back thousands of years," Taji also mentioned that the Muslim Leaders in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. have sold-out their citizens by co-operating and supporting the US in its so-called ‘War on Terror’. Many of their people, fathers and sons, were abducted by their own Government and handed over to the US. Some of which have been languishing in prison for over 11 years.

Shockingly, out of the 166 prisoners who are reported by outside sources to remain in Guantanamo, more than half have been cleared and are actually due for release. But they won’t be allowed to leave.
He mentioned that many of the Muslim leaders choose to remain silent on the oppressions that are blatantly carried out on Muslims around the world. Some Muslim regimes not only turn a blind eye to this crisis, but even use Muslim money to buy soccer clubs viz. Abu Dhabi who spent 1 Billion Pounds for a football club in the UK.

Obama ordered Guantanamo Bay shut within a year early in 2009, and still promised he would do so during his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech later this year. Aisha Maniar, from the London Guantanamo Campaign, said, “After 11 years, Guantanamo has immense symbolic power. To all those who believe in justice, truth and the rule of law it represents a continuing injustice.” Listen
