TRUE HONOUR IS IN
OBEDIANCE
It was one of the greatest concerns of the Messenger (sallallaahaalaihi-wasallam) for his companions (radiallaahu-anhum) and of the companions for their successors (rahimahumullaahu) and of the great scholars, that their Eemaan (Faith/Belief) was correct and firm. That they were in possession of and were acting upon that type of knowledge the acquisition of which is an obligation upon every Muslim, male and female; that they were practising those things which Allaah had obligated upon them and refrained from those things that Allaah had forbidden them from. That they remained upon this path not deviating from it in terms of belief or action, while constantly striving to increase their Eemaan and correct actions, and as a result of all this, that they became protected from the Fire and increased their chance of entry into Paradise. Every directive, command, advice or suggestion always had this concern underlying it. There are numerous examples easily accessible for the one who is need of them. And this is where the honour lies. Not in material success but in the sincere and correct worship of Allaah Azzawajall, in enslavement to Him alone and absolute obedience to his Messenger (sallallaahu-alaihi-wasallam). {And to Allaah belongs all Honour} [63:8] ~ Taken from the book: “Shaytan, His way of Misleading” ~ |

someone has wounds on more than half of the body, or is suffering
from small-pox, then it is not obligatory to make Wudhu (ablution)
or Ghusl (bath). Instead, Tayammum (dry ablution) could be made.

THE SECOND BID This little not-for-profit organization was having problems with their air conditioning. So the organization brought in a vendor to see what beefing up the cooling system will cost. The quote was around 25,000 -- a way-too-pricey for this outfit. At non-profits, money is never in abundance and we knew we wouldn't be able to scrape up anywhere close to 25, 000. However, our board required us to get three quotes for any expense close to that. So we brought in a competing vendor. The second air-conditioning guy walked into the room and looked around for a minute. Then he picked up a spare cardboard box off the floor and taped it over the thermostat. "No charge," he said. The first vendor justified his quote by responding, "However, we did end up spending about $100 or so to replace the cardboard box with something nicer - and to buy dinner for the second vendor."
