THE RIGHTS OF THE GREATNESS OF ALLAH It is the right of Allah’s greatness to abstain from sin. The proof of this is the verse, "Seek forgiveness from your Rabb." Thereafter Allâh‚ states that man has no fear when he commits sins. How unworthy of him. "What is wrong with you? Don’t you consider Allâh’s greatness?" This verse is connected with the previous one namely, "Seek forgiveness from your Rabb." Please your Lord and when you committed the sin, you did not think of Allâh’s greatness. "What is wrong with you that you did not even ponder over Allâh’s honour and think what a great Master you are displeasing?" Allâh‚ granted me the knowledge of this proof. I did not find it in any book. While reciting the Qur’ân, I thought that this verse is the proof of what our elders say namely, that worship is the right of Allâh’s love while abstention from sin is the right of Allâh’s greatness. Now tell me, is sin a good or bad thing? (The listeners said it was bad.) Then must you leave a bad thing immediately or after a while? (They replied that it should be left immediately.) When you yourself admit it, then you should leave sins immediately. What will be the reward? Allâh‚ will make all your work easy.
