in which he talked about the necessity to purify and clean one’s
soul. The Sheikh argued that this is not simply a matter of
emotional slogans or ethical luxury. He emphasised the need
for Muslims, both the common and the elite, to protect their
religion against premeditated campaigns aimed at distorting

Zayd bin Khãlid 'Al-Juhaniyy RA said: The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) led us in the morning prayer in Hudaybiya ([following a night in which it rained]) Then when he had come out of his prayer, he approached the people, and then said: "Do you know what your Lord has said?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "This morning some of my bond servants have become believers in Me and some have become unbelievers in Me. As for him who said: “MUTIRNAA BIFADHLILLAHI WA RAHMATIHI” - We have been rained upon by the benevolence of Allah, and His Mercy - that is a believer in me, and an unbeliever in the stars. And as for him who said: We have been rained upon due to such and such a star setting at the rising of another [Star foreboding rain], then that is an unbeliever in Me, and a believer in the star." ~ Bukhãri and Muslim ~ |
