Surah Al-Waqiah 56: - (The Imminent Event)

With the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most-Merciful

"Indeed this is certainty in its true sense..." 56:95
"So, proclaim the purity of the name of your Lord, the Magnificent..." 56:96

COMMENTARY: At the end of this subject the Qur'an says: "Indeed this is certainty in its true sense..." None of the reward or punishment mentioned in the preceding verses is refutable because they are a dead certainty that has no room for any doubt or suspicion.

(So, proclaim the purity of the name of your Lord, the Magnificent..." 56:96). The Surah concludes with an imperative addressed to the Messenger of Allah to pronounce the Tasbih of His Lord. This includes all kinds of Tasbihat (rememberances)- within Salaah and outside Salaah. Salaah itself is sometimes referred to as Tasblh. Thus, this verse enjoins to keep up the regular performance of Salaah.

Life and death, a universal reality,
Rejection of which, is shameful ignorance,

* Syria says Assad won’t wear award of ‘slave’ to America - Syria sends back to France the prestigious Légion d’honneur (Legion of Honour) given in 2001 to President Bashar al-Assad after Paris joined the US and the UK to attack the Arab country, saying the leader will not wear the award of a “slave” to America.

* China says will reciprocate US trade restrictions, advises dialog nonetheless - China’s ambassador to the United States says trade frictions between Beijing and Washington had better be resolved through dialog, insisting, however, that the Chinese state will follow the policy of reciprocation vis-à-vis US trade measures against China.

* Philippines slams European Parliament over ‘meddling’ - The Philippines says the European Union has interfered in its internal affairs by adopting a resolution that accuses Philippine authorities of rights abuses in an anti-drug campaign.

* Two warders arrested for allegedly helping Sun City prisoners escape - Two Johannesburg Prison warders have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the escape of 16 prisoners last week.

* Sceptical committee urges Eskom to tackle reforms - Parliament’s portfolio committee on public enterprises this week urged power utility Eskom to consider specific reforms to improve the financial management of the business, as well as optimise its operations.

Beef/ Mutton Kebaabs

500g beef / mutton cubes or ready made mince
1 onion
1 small tomato
3 slices bread soaked in water
10 green chilies
½ bunch methi bhaji chopped
½ bunch green dhana chopped
1 tsp black pepper
1 Tbsp ginger/ garlic
1 ½ tsp salt
1 tsp jeeru
2 tsp dhana powder
1 Tbsp chana flour
10 sticks spring onion chopped
½ bunch mint leaves chopped

1 tsp baking powder Mince together beef/ mutton, onion, tomato, bread and chilies. Mix in the rest of the ingredients. Make small packets of mixture and freeze until needed or shape into small balls and deep fry in medium heat until medium brown.
