SOME OF OUR LATEST UPDATES
THE STORY

There was a farmer who grew superior quality and award-winning corn. Each year he entered his corn in the state fair where it won honour and prizes.
One year a newspaper reporter interviewed him and learnt something interesting about how he grew it. The reporter discovered that the farmer shared his seed corn with his neighbors.

"How can you afford to share your best seed corn with your neighbours when they are entering corn in competition with yours each year?" the reporter asked. "Why sir," said the farmer, "didn't you know? The wind picks up pollen from the ripening corn and swirls it from field to field. If my neighbors grow inferior, sub-standard and poor quality corn, cross-pollination will steadily degrade the quality of my corn. If I am to grow good corn, I must help my neighbours grow good corn."

The farmer gave a superb insight into the connectedness of life. His corn cannot improve unless his neighbour's corn also improves. So it is in other dimensions! Those who choose to be at harmony must help their neighbours and colleagues to be at peace, those who choose to live well must help others to live well, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches. And those who choose to be happy must help others to find happiness for the welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all.

Abu Hurayrah Radiyallahu Anhu narrates that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "Allah has said: ‘O Son of Adam! Spend I will spend on you!" (Muslim)

Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "The Muslim Ummah is like one body. If the eye is in pain then the whole body is in pain and if the head is in pain then the whole body is in pain"

WASHING ONES HANDS FOR MEALS

Salmaan Radiayallahu Anhu narrates: I read in the Taurah that the blessings of food lies in the washing of hands after meals. I mentioned this to Nabi Sallallahu alaihi Wa Sallam and informed Him of what I read in the Taurah. Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam then said: "The blessings (Barakah) of food lies in the washing of hands before and after meals." (Shamaail Tirmizi Pg 12)

Worldy benefits of this beautiful Sunnah:

If the average person has to know the amount of germs on his hands before eating, he'll lose his appetite. If you are eating together with others you might offend them. Not washing your hands after meals might cause a disturbance to others later on in the day.

The following is a true story…

There was once a trucker who stopped by a diner during his long distance travels and ordered a meal. A few minutes after he ate he collapsed and died. Investigations were made and the food etc were sent in for tests but to no avail. Finally, after some time the cause of his death was known. Apparently while driving, the driver drove over a snake. As he jumped off the truck at the diner his hand touched the tyre which had poison on it. The driver did not wash his hands before eating thus unknowingly consuming poison.

THE SMILE

Two elderly couples were enjoying a friendly conversation when one of the men asked the other, "Fred, how was the memory clinic you went to last month?"

"Outstanding," Fred replied. "They taught us all the latest psychological techniques - visualization, association - it's made a big difference for me."

"That's great! What was the name of that clinic?" Fred went blank. He thought and thought but couldn't remember. Then a smile broke across his face and he asked, "What do you call that flower with the long stem and thorns?"

"You mean a rose?"

"Yes, that's it!" He turned to his wife. "Rose, what was the name of that clinic?"
