BELIEF AND TRUST A young man was walking on a rope tied between two tall towers. As he was walking slowly, balancing on a long stick in his hands, he had his son sitting on his shoulders. The people on the ground were watching them in awe. The situation was very tense. He slowly reached the second tower… Everyone clapped, whistled, and welcomed them. They shook hands and took selfies. He asked the crowd: “Do you think I can walk back on the same rope now from this side to that side?” The crowd shouted in one voice: “Yes, Yes, you can..." Do you trust me, he asked? He said: “Okay, can any one of you give me your child to sit on my shoulder; I will take the child to the other side safely?” Suddenly, there was stunned silence. Everyone went quiet. Belief is different. This is what we lack towards ALLĀH. We believe in Almighty Allah, but do we really trust Him...? |

CONTINUOUS DEEDS Abu Salih R.A. reports "I enquired from Aayeshah and Ummi Salamah Radhiyallahu anhuma that which act was the most beloved by Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam?" Both gave the reply "That deed, which was practiced continuously, even if it was a little". Commentary: All Nafl (optional) deeds, even if it be a little, or whatever could be done should be practised continuously and with care. One should not forsake these with the thought that it cannot be practised constantly because the Nawafil are the only acts that compensate the short comings of the Faraa'id (compulsory act). Therefore, one should endeavour to observe and practice as much as one possibly can. |

RECIPE Ingredients 7 Cups Flour 1 pkt Instant yeast 7 tblsps Sugar 2 eggs 2 & 1/2 cups warm water 3 tblsps oil ½ tblsp slt 4 tblsps ghee 1 tsp Sumf 1 & 1/2 cups milk Method Beat together oil, sugar, eggs and ghee. Add water, milk and sumf. Add flour, salt and yeast, form a soft dough (if needed more milk may be added). Cover and allow to rise until double its size. Form into balls, put on greased oven trays allow to rise. Brush with egg. Sprinkle Tal or kas-kas. Bake on 180 until golden brown. Brush with melted butter. Enjoy. |
