Dealing With Disappointment – Learn How To Take Care of Yourself

Many of us are constantly giving to others around us. However, remember that we cannot give from an empty cup or have the strength to overcome disappointments and struggles if we don’t take good care of ourselves. We should take care of our bodies by sleeping well, eating a healthy diet, and of course exercise which has been shown to be just as effective as anti-depressants. Read More

THIS WEEK IN ISLAMIC HISTORY

27th Safar 589 AH – Death of Salahuddin Ayyubi R.A.

Salahuddin Ayyubi was no doubt one of history’s greatest heroes. Both Muslims and non-Muslims alike praise his amazing accomplishments, as well as his shining qualities of bravery, generosity, and justice.

From among his astonishing conquests, the capturing of Jerusalem from the crusaders in the 12th century is one that changed the history of the world. During his victory of Jerusalem, he entered the city, not as a boastful conqueror, but with humility, similar to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) when he entered Makkah after the Muslim victory.

With all his power and fame, he did not allow the temptations of this life to distract him from his goal of servicing Islam. When Salahuddin passed away (age 56), he only had a few pieces of gold and silver to his name.

THE SMILE

I don't know whether I should laugh or be inspired by this...
But here it is...

I was sitting in a Masjid after Juma prayer.
When it was time for collection, the donation box was passed around. Despite the Imam's call for good offering, I still hurriedly and secretly pulled out an old worn out note of R10 from my pocket and dropped it.
Just then, the person behind me tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a R200 note.
I smiled, so generous.

Majestically, I looked around and put the R200 in the box and passed it on.
Then I turned and thanked the man seriously for being so generous.
He replied: "Don't mention it'', be more careful next time, it fell from your pocket"

Whaaaat!!!???...
