Education: Part 4

Islamic Education

Islam has, from its inception, placed a high premium on education and has enjoyed a long and rich intellectual tradition. Knowledge (‘ilm) occupies a significant position within Islam, as evidenced by the more than 800 references to it in Islam’s most revered book, the Holy Quraan. The importance of education is repeatedly emphasized in the Quraan with frequent injunctions, such as:

يأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمْ تَفَسَّحُوا۟ فِى ٱلْمَجَٰلِسِ فَٱفْسَحُوا۟ يَفْسَحِ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا قِيلَ ٱنشُزُوا۟ فَٱنشُزُوا۟ يَرْفَعِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ دَرَجَٰتٍ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ

“O believers! When you are asked to make room in your meetings, make room, Allah will make room for you in the Hereafter. And if you are told to rise up, then rise up: Allah will raise to higher ranks those of you who have faith and knowledge. Allah is aware of all your actions.” (58:11)

قُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا و

“O my Lord! Increase me in knowledge” (20:114),

Sunnah Acts of Wudu

DAILY FIQH

Question: What are the Sunnah acts of Wudhu?

Answer:

1. To say Bismillahir Rahmaaanir Raheem.
2. To wash both hands upto the wrists.
3. To rinse the mouth.
4. To wash the nose.
5. To use Miswaak.
6. To make masah of the entire head.
7. To wash each part three times.
8. To make masah of the ears.

Easy Egg Bread Recipe

EGG BREAD

4 eggs, 1tsp salt, 1tsp dry dhana, 1tsp red chillies or 1tsp green chutney, half tsp arad, 3 tab milk and green dhana and spring onions chopped

Method

Whisk the above ingredients together. Warm oil in a pan Slice bread in halves or fours Shallow fry on medium heat. U can serve with mayonnaise or cheese spread or red chutney. Enjoy.

Real Punishment

A newspaper reporter was writing a feature story about prison life and was interviewing one of the prisoners. "Do you watch much television here?"

"Only the daytime shows," the inmate said. "At night we're locked in our cells and don't see any television."

"That's too bad," the reporter said, "But I do think it is nice that the warden lets you watch it in the daytime."

"What do you mean, nice?" the inmate said. "That's part of the punishment."
