Budgeting: Part 1

Following a year of pandemic and lockdowns, South African employees and companies are looking ahead to the annual Budget Speech on 24 February with a sense of foreboding.

In the wake of the crisis, many jobs have disappeared, countless businesses have shut down, and billions of rand in tax revenue from sources such as VAT, PAYE, and excise duties have been lost.

With near-record levels of unemployment, and limited fiscal room, the Finance Minister faces a difficult task in balancing the need to raise more tax revenue against the reality that most businesses and consumers don’t have more to give.

Roast Baby Lemon herb Chicken

Place washed chicken onto a pan brushed with olive stuff chicken with the cous cous veggie mixture,2 half lemon wedges, 2 wedges raw onion, 2 garlic cloves, 5 tyme leaves and tie the chicken legs together with a string. On the tray cut 4 lemon wedges, 4 onion wedges, 3 garlic cloves and 5 small blocks of butter around the tray. Rub the chicken with dry tyme and oreganum and olive oil. Cover tray with foil and Cook on 190 degrees checking every 20 minutes and basting the top with juice of the pan. vut pieces on the chicken to see if cooked, when slightly browned take off the foil and bake without the foil. keep basting every 15 minutes.

Lost Turnabout
