Think about this: What was there to read, when Allah said ‘Read’?
What there was to read, was the creation of Allah and Allah commanded Rasoolullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Salam) to read His signs in the creation. So all I am doing is to follow the same methodology.
The best way to recognize the magnificence of Allah is to look at his creation with eyes of Imaan. Our problem is that we leave the Tarbiyyah of children until it is too late. When they are little we are too anxious for them to hurry up and grow up. And they do. Only, when that happens we do not recognize them. We think that the only things that we have to worry about when they are little are if they are fed and clothed and happy. And to take them ‘out of our hair’ we get them addicted to the TV or worse still to video games.
If instead of that we had spent some time introducing them to Allah and to His Messenger and to the beautiful concepts of this Deen, they would have turned into young men and women we could be proud of.
~ Taken from the book 'Bringing up the Muslim Child' by Mirza Yawar Baig ~
Allah has created a living planet and placed us in her bosom.
She has organs like us but different. The rain forest in South America is the so-called lungs of the planet. The so-called barren desert wastelands of the Sahara desert in North Africa are just as important as the forests and oceans. In fact, the forest and oceans depend upon the desert. Six million tons of dust float across the Atlantic ocean every year and settle on the amazon forest and also the sea. Providing the forest and the sea with iron. Sustaining microorganisms like plankton. Microorganisms are the beginning of the food chain on which all life forms depend. Man has a unique connection to dust. The forests and oceans will never be the same without the just desserts (pun intended). Allah's unconditional love has made every day Mubarak for us.

Steak Curry in Pressure Pot
(Done in 3 ways)
- 1kg steak
- 1 Onion sliced
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 tomato
- 1 tbsp red ginger garlic masala (or according to one’s preference)
Layer the steak into the pressure pot. Add the oil, sliced onion and water, allow to pressure cook for 20 minutes, after the whistle. Then make your vagaar in a separate pot, and allow to cook 3/4 way through, add your steak, lower the heat and allow to braise, it’s ready when the oil starts to show, adjust the salt (if needed). Serve with roti or paratha and salads.
- Or alternatively, you can braise the steak in the pressure pot and when done add the steak to the vegaar…
- Or you can braise the steak in the pressure pot and add all the masalas and tomatoes in the pressure pot and serve (if done this way than you only need 1 onion).
