    “The next day, Musa AS’s mother felt a void in her heart (faarighan) – if We had not strengthened (rabatna) it to make her one of those who believe” [Al Qasas 28: 10] In this passage, the Qur’an subtly describes the heart of this woman that had become “emptied” after the separation from her son; the Arabic word “faarighan” can be translated as “drained away” or “dried”. The description is nuanced and the metaphor used by the Qur’an here attempts to convey the depths of Umm Musa’s sorrow. more

Ibn 'Abbaas Radiyallahu 'Anhu says: "Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam said:

'Use Kuhl (surmah, antimony, collyrium) made of Ithmid on the eye; it brightens the eyesight, and strengthens and increases the growth of the eye lashes'. (Sayyidina Ibn'Abbaas Radiyallahu'Anhu also used to say)

'Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallarn had a small container for keeping Kuhl, from which he applied Kuhl in each eye three times every night"'. [TIRMITHI] more

RECIPE

POTATO MUFFINS

Ingredients:
6 large potatoes finely grated;
1 onion, finely grated;
2 eggs, lightly beaten;
3 tablespoons flour;
1 tsp salt;
1 tsp green masala;
¼ tsp pepper;
1 ¼ tsp baking powder;
6 tsp oil; 1 cup cheese – chopped herbs & spices of your choice

Method:
Combine all ingredients together. Spoon mixture into greased muffin tins, about two thirds full .Bake in pre heated oven of 180 degrees for about 45 minutes Note: Add cheese, chopped herbs and spices of your choice for a change.
