The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) has said: "Allah has ninety-nine names, i.e. one-hundred minus one, and whoever knows them will go to Paradise." (Sahih Bukhari 50:894)

Abu Huraira RA reported Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) as saying: "There are ninety-nine names of Allah; he who commits them to memory would get into Paradise. Verily, Allah is Odd (He is one, and it is an odd number) and He loves odd numbers.." (Sahih Muslim Book-48 Hadith-5)

MADIERA AND CHERRY SQUARES
(Makes 20 squares)

125g butter - 200 ml sugar - 2 extra large eggs - 5 ml vanilla essence - 375 ml Snow flake - self raising flour (210g) - 60 ml milk - 200g glace red cherries.

Beat butter and sugar. Add egg, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour and add with milk. Dip cherries in flour and stir in gently. Spoon into a rectangular tin of about 20 cm times 24 cm. Bake in a preheated oven at about 180 degree c for 20 – 25 minutes. Leave to cool and dust with icing sugar.
