In the early morn, I lean on the rough precast wall,
Seeking sunshine, peeking through buildings so tall.
I recall my uncle sitting outside his humble home,
In the warm winter sun, chilled to the bone.

Pulling back from the icy metal cold of corrugated iron walls.
Minding every step lest he falls.
Birds awaken the sky, chirping, tweeting, and squeaking,
a tree full of birds that seem to be speaking.

Their chirps blend with the hum of traffic.
Colourful flowers and green trees, so graphic.
Above, a plane cuts across the empty blue sky.
I wonder where the plane is headed, far or nearby.

Birds, not bound by schedules, fly through the air.
The birds fly without a care.
A glorious moment to contemplate.
I fall silent and meditate.

Yoghurt Chops

Ingredients:
½ Kg Chops- Pounded Lightly; 2 Cups Yoghurt; 2 Inch Piece of ginger; 1 Small bunch of coriander leaves; Green chilies to taste; ½ tsp turmeric powder; 10 peppercorns; salt; 2 medium onions; oil; 1 tbl spoon Crushed garlic.

Method:
Grind garlic, ginger, coriander, chilies, turmeric, peppercorns and salt to a paste. Fry the sliced onions till brown and crisp. Coat the chops with the yoghurt and macula paste. Soak them for an hour. Heat oil and fry the chops with curd till tender and brown. Garnish with brown onions . Serve with chips, salads and rotis.
