Beauty

Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder
Some see a bush around a boulder,
Others bow to nature, abundant and lush.
Some complain of the overgrown brush,

Some merely look; a few truly behold.
The ecosystem is ancient and bold.
The forest reclaims an engine, pistons long dead,
Rust kissed by moss where iron once led.
Old rail tracks soften into a wandering way,
Roots and time erasing where steel once would stay.

Yellowed leaves fall, a carpet of gold,
Soft underfoot, these are stories untold.
Trees rise on both sides, arching the view,
A castle without doors… open, and true.

Cut cucumber
Pomegranate jewels
Honey

Spread cream cheese over a cracker. Top with dates, cucumber and pomegranate jewels. Drizzle with honey and serve.

Raising Children

Here's my theory on raising children:

A couple has their first child. Everything must be perfect and clean. The child is in the high chair and drops a cookie. They throw the cookie away and get a new cookie.

The second child comes along. Everything is not so perfect or clean. The child is in the high chair and drops a cookie. They pick up the cookie, blow on it, say 5-second rule and give the cookie back.

Then the third child comes. Everyone is tired and anything goes. The child is in the high chair and drops a cookie. They put the child on the floor with the cookie.
