For 30 years, Radio Islam has served the Ummah
with reminders, knowledge and guidance. In these blessed last
10 nights of Ramadan, we are looking for 300 people to contribute
R1000 each to help continue this work. Be one of the 300 who
keeps the voice of the Ummah alive.
Allah says:
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the path of
Allāh Taʿālā is like a seed that grows seven ears; in every
ear are a hundred grains. And Allāh multiplies for whom He wills.
(Surah Al-Baqarah) |

| POEM |
The
holy month of Ramadan, a test of the soul,
A quiet war within, where the restless learn control. Fasting
tames the ego’s cry,
Softens the gaze, lowers the eye.
The fevered pulse begins to slow,
Desires dim, the spirit glows.
It slows the race, it stills the grind,
Unclutters the heart and clears the mind.
On an empty stomach, fullness is found,
In silence, sacred echoes sound.
Hunger lifts you strangely high,
Draws the distant Lord so nigh.
Each sunset carries gentle cheer,
As Iftar whispers, “He is near.”
Then Eid arrives — so bright, so sweet,
Yet leaves us longing in retreat.
Abrupt is the end, we sigh, “Oh boy…”
For discipline has birthed a joy.
Abundant mercy, vast reward,
A shield against vice, without a sword.
Ramadan — a sacred art,
A month that rearranges the heart. |

O
Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those
absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O
Allah, whom amongst us You keep alive, then let such a life
be upon Islam, and whom amongst us You take unto Yourself, then
let such a death be upon faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of
his reward and do not let us stray after him. [Sunan Abi Dawud]

How
Long?
A boy, frustrated with all the rules he had to follow, asked
his father, "Dad, how soon will I be old enough to do whatever
I want?"
The father answered immediately, "I don't know. Nobody
has lived that long yet."
